When Yazlin walked into the Great Hall that morning she was in time to see Pansy run away with tears on her cherry red face from where Tidra was now sitting by Malfoy. She had the urge to stick her foot out and trip the girl, but decided against it.
She walked to her first class, Transfiguration, and sat in the back with the other Slytherins. Leaning back in her chair, she doodled absentmidedly on her parchment waiting for McGonagall to stop babbling and when they could start using their wands. She was easily one of the best in this class, but she didn't care. She was just bored at the moment.

Tidra walked into the Potions classroom and took a seat with the other four Slytherins who were in the class. She wasn't really listening as Slughorn talked. She started listening when he told them to make the Draught of Living Death. She got up and grabbed all the ingredients she would need as she walked back to her cauldron.

Why had she taken this class,it was so bording. She thought. Take short notes, then writing Jake name across her paper hopeing none of the Slytherins, they would tease her because she was a mugglebron and he was prue-blood.

Hermione headed to her first class of the day which happened to be Potions. In this lesson the students would be learning how to make the Draught of Living Death. She gathered all the ingredients she would need and took her seat by Harry and Ron. Since neither of them had a potions book, they were allowed to borrow one from the classroom until they were able purchase one of their own.

Tidra took out her Advanced Potion-Making book because she knew Slughorn would probably have a fit if she didn't pretend like she was reading it. She knew how to make this potion and she didn't need to read the directions. All she had to do was try to remember how to make it. She added in the asphodel in an infusion of wormwood and then she added the valerian roots. The potion had turned a blackcurrant color by now. She picked up the sopophorous bean, grabbed her silver knife and started cutting it up. Not much juice was coming out. She was trying to remember what she was doing wrong. She grabbed her knife and pressed the flat side of it down on the bean and the juice began to come out. She smirked as she added it all into the cauldron. She bent down and looked at the color. It had turned a light shade of lilac, like it was supposed to. She glanced around at the rest of the student’s cauldrons. Some were doing things right, but most of them had failed miserably. She saw one cauldron that had somehow turned green.
"Do you want some help with that?" She asked Malfoy, who seemed like he was having a difficult time. When he didn't respond she grabbed the sopophorous bean from him and did the same thing she had done to her own. The juice immediately squeezed out.
"How did you do that?"
"Pressing down on it with the flat side of the knife works better than cutting it." She replied. She looked back at her own cauldron and began stirring it.
"The book says to stir counterclockwise." He said.
"Oh, don't listen to the book." She paused, trying to remember.
"I think it's a clockwise stir, and then a counterclockwise stir after every seventh clockwise stir." She said. She stopped stirring in her own cauldron because she was still trying to remember correctly. She thought that was right. She was about to begin doing that until she looked at Malfoy's cauldron. Which had turned a light brown color after he had stirred accordingly to what she said.
"I think I had it backwards." She said.
"Obviously." He drawled. She rolled her eyes and stirred it the opposite way of what she had said. Eventually the potion turned clear as water. She had done it right.
"Thank you so much for your direction." Malfoy sneered at her after seeing her's turn the correct color.
"Stop whining. I never told you to listen to me." She remarked.

Yazlin was absentmindedly turning a frog into a tea cup and back while McGonagall was explaining the instructions. Suddenly her voice pitched higher and in that tone.
"Ms. Kumez, if you would please stop that racket so the rest of us could continue with the lesson."
"Oh, of course Professor." she said in a mock admiration tone.
McGonagall continued with the lesson but Yazlin was busy now scribbling on some parchment, working on a spell.
