Drew sighed, shaking his head to himself, his breath quickening. "Look, lass. I don't know who you are, and I don't know what the heck you're doing here, or how you even managed to come on, but I'm warning you. This trip could be dangerous, for all I know." He glanced around swiftly, then closed his eyes in sheer weariness as the ship departed from the docks. There was no turning back now. Gritting his teeth, he turned back to the girl. "Alright. I can't tell the crew, they'd probably shove you into the sea or summat. But look, I don't want you here either. A girl onboard might spoil everything. So I tell you what. You get in there-" He pushed her into his cabin-"And you stay there."He knew he would be penalized for this if he was found out, hiding a girl in his room. But it was the only option-that, or she'd have to die. And he knew he didn't want to see that loss. Breathing heavily, he locked the door and turned away.

Devina spotted Drew. "Sir!" she called out, and ran- carfully as not to tripü on her dress- over to him. Mrs. Gent whezzed after her. "I'm sorry Mr. Drew sir, I dont know what came over her..." she made to slap Devina, who backed away carfully. "This is the lady Devina Rorsche."

Drew turned at a familiar voice-to see the girl he had met earlier clamber up the Black Pearl just as it left the docks. Behind her was a rather more plump woman, sweat rolling down the sides of her face. He froze-not more women onboard. He was about to ask them to leave the ship when the older woman spoke. He cast a disdainful glance at her, then turned his eyes upon the girl instead.
"Yes, Yes, I've met her." He waved a hand about impatiently, then halted-Devina. Was that her name? He cleared his throat. "Well, you, mistress, and Miss Devina here, are unfortunately not allowed on the Black Pearl-much as I'd like you to be-" He swallowed. "And I'd really have to face a serious penalty if I got caught talkin' to you two. You're getting me into trouble..." He looked at Devina, who seemed to have an idea brewing in that mind of hers. "Any other smart ideas, missy?"
