Elizabeth looked around, and then looked at the house, which was half destroyed. She looked at her mother and sighed. Her mother suddenly said, "Lizzie, you can't stay here."

"Mother...after Thomas gone, can you really take care of yourself."

"Liz, it's not safe here! " her mother said, looking at her.

Evelyn sighed and put her bag down. She HATED the idea of having to run from the Germans...if she had her way, she'd be fighting them...but she was a girl, right?

She looked at the thing around her neck and rolled her eyes. <i>Am I to be treated like mail?!</i> she thought. She sighed again, turning to tell her mother something, but noticed the Pevensies arriving.

Evelyn smiled. "Well, at least we'll all be able to face this together..." Her heart jumped to her throat for a microsecond. That would mean that she'd be with Peter there, too... She looked up as a troop of soldiers passed into the depot. She followed them with her eyes...how she admired them so.

"Hey guys!" Lizzie said as she pushed through the crowd. She looked at her friends.

Peter hugged his mother before stepping into the rest of the children being sent off. He placed his hand on Lucy's shoulder and gently lead her to the train but seeing Susan and Evelyn he quickly changed direction. "Hello Evy," he said in a suprised but saddened tone.

Evelyn laughed at what Peter called her. "Evy?" she asked, shaking her head. "Since when do you call me that? Hello, Lizzie," she said as Lizzie walked toward them. She looked back at Peter. "What's the matter?" she asked. She turned around, following his gaze. He had been looking at the soldiers. She turned around and gave him a look in her eye that said, <i>I know.</i>
