Cat looks as though she's about to march off and demand a job from the man, but thinks better of it and follows Daaron out, mumbling something about 'fusspot buffoons for bosses'......

Daaron grinned as he walked, guessing what was going on in Cat's head. "Well, think about it this way - maybe he's run out of people he wants to kill. If that is the case, you might be hired to kill yourself." He finished his statement with a laugh, wondering how many assassins had been killed for being too much of a pain.

Cat merely glares at him, then returns her view to straight ahead. After a moment, she looks back at Daaron. "Ever thought about bein' a mercenary type?.... Hire y'self out t'anyone who'd pay nicely?.... Instead o' this guy?..." She jerks her thumb backwards, indicating the man they had just met with.....

Cat shoves Daaron, knocking him off balance, and grins. "Yeah, he pays good.... When he pays...." Her eyes narrow for a moment, then her grin returns, her fangs gleaming. "But y'see, the naive ones get gipped, an' we get more money outta them...." Cat laughs darkly at her rather wicked humour....

Only the extreme discipline he exerted on himself and the knowledge that Cat was a friend kept Daaron from yanking out one of his knives and going on the offensive. "Be careful, Cat - you're liable to get yourself killed if you shove me like that. Normally that would be a threat to me." He didn't really enjoy it when people shoved him, if only for the reason it normally was a threatening action. "Anyways, Jarvis always pays. My experience with those who hire mercenaries is somewhat bad - I've had to kill them more often than not for not paying me."

Daaron raised his eyebrows again. "You could handle me easily enough? As if. I have had over twenty assassins say that to me, and their friends had to bury each one of them." His grey eyes glittered, the only outward evidence that he was annoyed by Cat's low opinion of his combat abilities.
I think it'll raise less contention, Luinnar, if we don't go sticking our char's combat abilities above each other, because Daaron is really good, so....
