Hi everyone! I’m thinking about updating part of my flat - mostly sorting out old cabinets, fixing uneven walls and maybe improving the layout a bit. I’ve never done anything like this before, so I’m not sure whether it’s something I should try to handle myself or if it’s better to bring in someone experienced. Has anyone here worked with small renovation projects like this? Any advice on where to start or what to avoid?

I remember feeling completely stuck at the beginning because I couldn’t decide where to start or what actually mattered. What finally helped was taking a step back and looking at the flat as a set of separate little problems rather than one huge project. When I wasn’t sure about a couple of trickier steps, I had a look at how a renovation company typically approaches these kinds of projects, just to understand what’s worth doing yourself and what might need someone with more experience. It took a lot of the guesswork out of things for me, and the whole process felt a lot less overwhelming.
