I don't really know, but I think it's because he's the master of the Ring. Everybody else is invisible with the Ring on, which shows that they are under the domination of the Lord of the Ring and and bound to the will of its master. I could be wrong, though. |

I think it is to do with his power. He is a maia after all, and all the others who put the ring on do 'disappear'. *has been searching for an asnwer to this question* [Google search the question: Why is sauron not invisible when he wears the ring? and select the top result, where I am getting the following info from] From that text, it seems that invisiblity is only an effect for 'inappropriate' wearers, the likes of men and hobbits. This would not occur for 'appropriate' wearers such as Valar, Maiar or Elves. This theory [although not proved by Tolkien directly] would seem to provide a reasonable answer to your question; why does Sauron not become invisible when he puts the Ring on? The google search result describes it better, and in more detail, but I hope that helped to answer your question. |

Tom Bombadil is also another person who doesn't become invisible when he wears the Ring. But I do not think he is a maia or valar. |

But he kinda represents the spirit of nature and the woods. So he's another great power, but he has nothing to do with the power that men and all other folk seek. |

Did Tom Badil even wear the ring? I remember Frodo was scared but then Tom Bombadil laughed. I thoght Tom tricked him and put another ring on or something. |
