I just got back from seeing it and I figured that I would be the first to start this topic. *cough* I foresaw this.
As some know, Sean Bean had the honour to play the King of all Gods in the film. The one and only Zeus *insert epic music here*. He was only in the film for a short while but I think he did alright. Sean certainly captured the fact the Zeus is pretty ticked off and that seems to be all that was really written for him. The end after the bolt was returned it was alright. When it comes to mythological figures, I much prefer Sean for Odysseus.
As I said, I have never read the books but I hear the movie is
very different (so don't expect much if you see it and have read the books). One of the things that I would have to say bothered me was that a lot of mythological data was missing or just thrown out the window.
The FXs for the movie were well done and aspects of the storyline caught my attention. I loved how the entrance to the Underworld was in Hollywood.
I wouldn't doubt it actually. This place can be HE-double hockey stick.
I would recommend seeing the movie at least once. Take it for what it is: a film, and it will be enjoyable.
