I agree. The book skimmed over the battle. The movie has a lot more about the battle. Of course, it's a lot easier to do battle scenes in movies than in books. I wish, though, that they had done the battle in the movie more like the one in the book.

I think that I like shorter battle in book than longer in movie. I am not very in to battle and reading about them. But if I have to be completely honest, I liked that one.

I think Helm's Deep is an excellent way to really make it clear what kind of threat they're up against. Sure, they could've stayed true to the book, but this way just gave it *more*. And Haldir dying made it more dramatic and it sort of just really makes it clear how dark the world is becoming and that you can't count on seeing your friends ever again.
