Besides life coming in the way for finishing the awards up, is there anything else to change or modify in the process itself of the Graphic Awards? Or, was it just run expotentially well from beginning to end?

I thought it was run quite smoothly for such a large undertaking, however I'd like to see more advertising for nominations and such. I wanted to nominate several people, but had no idea when nominations occurred or where I should send them to. :)

I was wondering about that.. but I am not sure how to really have more advertisements up...

I can help you there. I would've been more than happy to post about it in the WT which seems to be a major hang out, and otherwise you could ask a mod to post something in a few of our major boards [Intro, Clubs, Contest, etc.]

Yeah--putting an Announcement in various boards (especially graphics-related ones) may have made more people aware of it.

Also...is there any other good place to put the voting threads? The contests section is the most logical, I agree, and I didn't mind them being there too much--but they did push down a lot of current contests!

I believe I put an announcement in Contests and Fan Art. Even though I totally forgot about the Your Life and Misc. Randomness sections.

I know. I was thinking that also. I did ask Kit before I put the voting threads up, but, unfortunately, I believe it cannot really be solved too horribly well.

Another option would be to put some in the Fan Art section. However, all of the awards should really be together in my opinion, and most people do not go by the Fan Art section that often.

Advertisment was definitely an issue... although everyone's suggestions sound good, perhaps we could've also stuck one in the Non-LotR RP board? There's a lot of people that go there every day who I know aren't active in the other sections..

IDK, just my two cents. :)

Well they should try and be more active in other sections of the forum then. ;) make them browse around more.

My suggestion is .... the voting----I think they should be private. I know the small font makes it inconspicuous but people can easily copy-paste it and count votes. Maybe make it pm'd vote but----I know it's really hard to do that if you're not a mod.

I was actually thinking about that Kit, PMed voting, but I ran into the same problem that you found. The fact is that you will get a fair amount of more votes if you do not have PMed voting, for some reason.

Actually, that's not always true---my earlier votings when I did PM'd votes actually had a good amount. And really it all depends on the interest of the contest. If they want to vote, they would vote.

Yeah. I see what you mean.

I am wondering if you all like how the voting was set up with pictures as illistrations and, partically, with the banners and descriptions of the contests.

I liked the banners and descriptions of contests. I would have liked to have seen more graphics from the 'artist' awards as to have a wider view of their abilities, but I figure it was hard enough to track down three for every contestant as it was!
