Well, the next voting stage on some of the awards is called the "run off" (that's what it says) and I'm just wondering how only some polls got to that stage.

I think if the voting was really close/tied, there will be a run-off poll. If there was a clear leader, then that person wins without a run-off.

Okay, so can I nominate a new award that Pip and I were discussing yesterday?

See, we were talking about the Member Awards, and it occured to us that we both remember when each and every person in the running for "Best Oldie" joined. *feels old* So we decided that maybe it would be cool to have some kind of award for Ancients as well? Just to give some kind of chance to those of us who are too old to be remembered as oldies (y'know, like Tom Bombadil; old as time :teehee:)?

Quote:
"...Eldest, that's what I am. Mark my words, my friends: Tom was here before the river and the trees; Tom remembers the first raindrop and the first acorn. He made paths before the Big People and saw the Little People arriving. He was here before the Kings and the graves and the Barrow-wights. When the Elves passed westward, Tom was here already, before the seas were bent...before the Dark Lord came from Outside."

Ooh...you know what? It would be pretty cool to have an award for "old forumer" actually...you know, someone who was a member of the other forum before we moved!

Oh... :lost:

No, I don't think so. Because I don't remember all the nominees for best oldie being members of the old forum. I could be wrong, though. Did it say anywhere in our award description that they had to not be just old members, but from the former forum?

Eh...I know that Ms.Gamgee joined right after this forum was made, so she isn't an old-forumer. I can't remember about Larael

It was just a random idea.

Oldie is a member 12 months or more. We're past the old forumers at this point by a few months :P Yeah, an old forum-er would be fun! But what about name changes? That can be confusing "was he/she or wasn't he/she?"

I don't think I'd really consider myself to be an "old forumer" considering I was only at the old forum for a month and I only had 100 posts. Arien Elensar can vouch for me on that, as I PMed her about 5 or so times when I joined [the old forum that is]. ;)

But really, I do like that idea PotR. I think it'd be a very fair thing to do.

By the way, good luck Mrs. Gamgee! :)

I think it's going to be a close one. There's no telling who will come out on top. For all we know it could be yet another tie. :teehee:
