Lately it seems like people are posting in old "Hi, I'm new!" topics from 2005, which leads to a lot of other people posting there until someone (most likely Larael ;)) realizes that it's a thread from 2005. I know it would probably be a lot of extra work for the mods, I just thought that an easy way to solve the problem would be to lock (or delete?) the old ones that no one is posting in anymore.
I'm not saying thjat it's an urgent problem that needs to be fixed or anything. Just a friendly suggestion!

Actually, we've been talking about that too, but just haven't gotten around to it yet :)

I've posted saying that if people don't stop bumping up ridiculously old intro threads just to *cough*increasetheirpostcounts*cough*, we will start locking threads, but I hadn't seen it going on for a week or two... :erm:

*Nods* That is very tedius.

It could be people trying to boost their post count, but maybe some new welcomers take the responsiblity so seriously as to go back that far?

I think you may be right on that one Gwen. ;)

I agree with ye on that Gwen. Sometime's people just really get into their welcoming and don't realise how old something is.
But I agree with Arwen too. It is something that needs to stop. We can't have every single old thread popping up again. That would defeat the whole purpose of the "clean-out" we just finished with!

It's really pointless to great someone who's been here for about a year and has _______ number of posts and is well known.
