What is the Summer Ball? |

Cookies and w00tness to Ellie for getting things rolling. We've all been talking about it in the WT thread for ages...but no one would actually start a planning thread.
Anyway, I think one of the big questions that we should roll around for a while is if an Masquerade should be included. Or was that already decided? We could have it included in the whole Ball, or perhaps have it instead.

I think the Masquerade, personally should be kept for Christmas, as it makes it more special....and will cause less confusion.....

![]() I agree with JF^ I didn't join the Masquarade last time because it was all very confusing to me. I think just a regular ball would be fun. Mabye we could do water games though....since it is for the summer!

^Yeah a competition or two sounds fun. Wow, it's already been a year since Return of the Rings? Already a year has gone by!

A ball would be lots of fun. As for a game...remember, the Mods have a summer surprise! We don't have to plan everything.

I'm either way on the masquerade, but it sounds like everyone's against it, and these other ideas are sounding great. I just wanted to throw that out there just incase.
I think it'd be cool to have the entire event outside, since it will be warm. |

That's what I was thinking too.^ If we do have a dance floor, I thought it would be fun to have it outside. Also I was wondering are we going to have this for the begginning or end of summer.......or both?(for like a "Yay school is over" and a "Time for school to start" ball! )

I think a "Time for school to start" ball would be a hard time to celebrate...I know I'd be acting all depressed the whole time. But maybe that's just me. There are some people who celebrate do celebrate the start of school...I guess.

^Ehh I don't
I would love a summer ball... but does that seem a bit wintry to anyone? Why not change things up a bit... how about a summer bash? Since it would be really hot, a ball might not seem that appropriate... we could maybe have an outdoor party with food, drinks, a pool... and obviously a dance. *shrug* But anyway, whatever you all decide, I will like

What about during the first week of July? With Independence Day and all of that. Unless you want to have it sooner, but I think mid-summer would be a good time.

^Ooh, am I good or what? I'll be gone for a week July 15th - 21st because I'm going to Tennessee for vacation, so I thought maybe we could do that before I leave.

And.. July is sort of the middle of summer, a time when people really aren't doing much. It seems everyone plans holidays and such for the beginning or end of summer.
As for an outdoor "theme" i.e. pool party, dance, etc. I think that's an ace idea! And although I'm a bit disappointed about the masquerade being shot down, I do agree that it would be best saved for Christmas.
I'm not really what else we should do, but I do think we should have a couple o' contests. It seems as though all our past ideas for contests and such just sort of... fell through. |
