Post subject:  Graphic Awards

So, we have the RPG Awards, why don't we have the graphic awards? Or, combined, graphic and writing awards.

I was thinking awerds like:
-Best New Graphic Maker
-Best Old Graphic Maker (or can be best overall)
-Best Contest Host
-Most Unique Graphic Maker
Any suggestions...

Yes, I have wondered about that as well. I mean, there are graphic and RPG members awards... but then there appeared normal RPG awards on top of that.

So I think there should be graphics awards, and I like the categories you've got there smeag. I'd probably add:

Most Promising Graphics Maker
Best Long Running Contests (i.e LOTR Scene, STC etc)

Best Long Running Contests (i.e LOTR Scene, STC etc)-- that is what I was talking about in my "Best Contest Host", unless it should be two different awards.

I can run them, just not sure when a good time to start will be.

What do you mean by Most Promising?

Well I think Best Contest Host should be basically for the person who runs their contest(s) best. Who end their contest when they say they will, put the voting up promptly, and have the awards up as soon as they can etc.

Best Long Running Contest is more to do with the themes, the variety. If it's a banner contest, do you get a good mixture of themes?

Most Promising should be for those who have been improving all the time.

Are these individual projects outside of Member Awards themselves?

Yes, they are.

Just to add - the RPG Awards were run by me, they weren't done by a mod or anything :) Would this be the same thing, or done by a mod?

^ Yeah, I know. Which I think is why smeag is offering to host these awards so it's more member than Mod organization.

This sounds like a great idea! I'd love to see it happen. :) Maybe you could add a 'Most Involved' award for people who participate in lots of contests...would it work?

^ Ooh, that's a good idea for one actually. Because I think those people should be awarded because they help to keep the contest section alive. :-)

This has to be one of the best ideas I've heard in a long time, Smeag. :)

Let's hold off on any definite plans for these Graphics Awards. These are good ideas, but mods have to discuss whether nor these will interfere with our already existing Member Awards.

Can do, Kit. ;)

The mods have agreed that self-run Graphic Awards should be fine as long as it doesn't interfere with the Member Awards category "Best Graphics", and these Member Awards should be in the most organized way possible hosted in the Contest Section. :)

Sweet.

I thought of the idea in complete respect to the "Best Graphics" Award in the Member Awards section.

I believe all of these awards will be more "in depth" into graphic-making and contest directing.
