Is spoken English enough for me to travel without problems? To be honest, I still feel uncomfortable in another country.

For me, it is quite enough. Even if I can't say or read something complicated, express a thought, order food, ask something from someone I can always.

I came to the conclusion that English is the base. Without even minimal English, traveling will be very difficult. But at the same time, now if I’m planning a trip, say, to Italy, I’ll find an app like https://promova.com/app/italian-language-learning-app in advance to learn some basic phrases, words and all that in Italian. I think that local residents are always pleased when they are greeted in their native language.
