I'm sure many of you have noticed that your post counts have gone down rescently. This is because Misc Randomness has become post count free. However some of you have also noticed that your post count has dropped even further after this. Don't panic!! This isn't perminant. We are not planning on making any other boards post count free.

What is happening is that very large topics are being deleted in Misc Randomness to get more database space and these get subtracted again from your postcount because the forum doesn't realise that you didn't get any post count for them. For example say you started out with 5000 posts. You lost 2000 of them when Misc Randomness became post count free. You won't get these posts back. However say you made 500 of these posts in the The ^ < v game. When this thread was deleted you lost another 500 so you are now down to 2500. You will get these posts back as they've been taken off twice.

This will be reconfigured by Arwen pretty soon. So you'll get your post count back. Also if this is the first time you've been here since the posts first went down then don't worry - you'll probably find your posts will be quite a lot higher once it's configured.

Thank you for posting that, Elanor. Yes, we've been deleting the old games in Misc. Randomness to make the forum database smaller. Previously it was about 215 MB, and took over an hour to back up. The last thing we want to do is lose data in the forum because there was too much of it.

However, I've resynched the post counts, and they should be back to normal now. Sorry for the scare!
