To clarify the constant question of how to label your volleys, each volley is one round. Then the 10 volleys make up the 10 rounds (or however many rounds you decide to have). For example, if I had a battle with keyodie (for example), our battle would go like this:
Round 1: Gilraen
Round 2: keyodie
Round 3: Gilraen
Round 4: keyodie
ect.
I hope this clears things up!
Please let me know if you're still having questions!
Hello everyone. After running this idea past the mods and Arwen over in the Suggestions/Comments forum, I've got the OK to start people going on Photoshop (or any graphics maker) Battles!

Some of you probably know what they are, but if you don't here's a description (by Loleia of
PC):
A photoshop battle is a great way to improve your knowledge of Photoshop, Paint Shop Pro and other programs alike, to experiment and to learn new things.
The name "Photoshop Battle" does not exclude the use of other programs though, you can use GIMP, Paint Shop Pro or any other program (except for Paint, which is evil).
A PS battle is actually a back-and-forth between two people:
The person to start the battle has to come up with a graphic (collage) made in PS (or any other program; we call it photoshop because that's how they started). Then, his/her partner will save the graphic and make another one, as a kind of "reply" to the previous one. This will go on for ten rounds (5 each). The goal is to create a theme, and to develop it a little more with each new volley.
There are some basic rules you must follow, but other than that, you and your partner will make the rules for your battle.
Basic Rules:
- Always sign your volleys
- Always write what round you're in.
Size: 700 x 500
Format: .jpg
Volleys: 10
Now, there are two rules that are yours to make:
Theme: (Love, movies, dreams and so on)
Special rule: (Keep something from the previous round, always use a quote from a specific band etc.)
Here're a couple of examples of battles that I have done, for you to see what they look like:
Me vs. LOTRfreak13
Me vs. Wynter (of PC)
Me vs. PA (of PC)
Now that you know what a Photoshop Battle is, here are some basic rules:
1. Each volley must be 700px by 500px.
2. Each battle must have a theme (for example: Lord of the Rings, or Pirates of the Caribbean, or Nature, or Love Stories)
3. Each battle will have 10 rounds - 5 volleys per person - unless otherwise stated in the battle's 'special rules'.
4. Only 2 people can have a Photoshop battle together. No battles with more than 2 opponents.
5.
Always state your credits when you post your volley (like textures, brushes, images, ect.)
6. If you want any special rules in your battle, the two 'oppenents' must decide on them before they start. Special rules could be extra rounds, must include a quote, or only use certain colors. Those are just examples; you can have whatever special rules you want.
OK, now it's time to start battling!

Post on this thread if you want to do a battle. For example, you could post:
Quote:
Does anyone want to battle me? I have an idea for a theme of Superman.
Then someone might reply and say:
Quote:
I'd love to battle you! I'll PM you now

Then you'd PM each other back and forth to sort out the theme and special rules. After you do that, post a new thread here in the Fan Art section, and make the subject:
Your Name vs. Your Oppenents Name
Then you carry on with your battle, taking turns posting your volleys, and anyone can comment on them.
Does everyone understand? If you do, start posting saying you'd like to battle. If you have any more questions, PM me, just so we don't clutter up this thread
[s]And before I finish, I'd love to battle someone if they're up to it!

[/s] I'll be battling keyodie!
~Gil
PS - Sorry this post was so long! I hope it made sense!
