Post subject:  Can't screencap movies

Could someone help me? Whenever I try to screencap a movie, all it shows me is the player and a black space where the movie should be. Like this:

If the player is still open and minimized, it'll go through and show what the player is showing, not what I screencapped. I've tried everything... different players, different ways, downloaded programs... and nothing seems to work. Any suggestions?

I use cyberlink DVD player which can alos screencapture. There are 2 options either to capture to file or capture to clipboard. However if I try to print/screen the entire thing (player and image) and open it up in PSP, weirdly my "picture" when moved around shows the film movin within the frame, like I'm watching it through a picture which sounds a little bit like what you described.

The only thing I can suggest is go through all the different options on your player and see if there is anything about capturing to file or if all else fails, try using the printscrn button and then opening the image in a graphics programme.

Yeah, that's exactly what it does. I use Cyberlink too, though a version of it that came with my computer. I'm wondering if I bought the full version would it work?

I'll try some more things but it's really frustrating at this point. :P Thanks for your insight, JF. :)

You may want to pause the movie and then screencap it

Are you on a Mac or Windows? I use VLC to screencap and I run a Mac. DVD Player won't allow you to screencap.
