'Subtle Knife' basically had a knife which could cut the dimensional fabric, so a character could make a cut, peek through and see if he wanted to make the hole bigger and go through, or step five feet to the right and make another cut. Which would be very useful in ensuring that you wouldn't cross dimensions and end up in the middle of a table or aquarium. Or vat of boiling oil.

I never really got into that series - it felt very occult. Also I read the first book in French, so I got most of the ideas, but not the finer nuances.

*goes to bed*

Ditto. That's why I abandoned whichever one I started (I think maybe it was The Golden Compass) after about a chapter or two. I didn't think there was much point in me reading a book like that.

But anyways, I'm just worried about when schoolwork's going to come crashing down again, and I'm going to fall behind on the RPGs. I'm very worried. :confused2: It's bound to happen sometime.

I need to make my opening post in "A Rift in Time" soon. Probably after the Algebra test I've got in a little while.

I keep forgetting - ditto for me, I leave in about four hours and I'll be back on Sunday so try not to get too far ahead of me over the weekend. I'm easygoing, I don't mind reading through a page or two, but don't do like twelve and leave me hopelessly in the dust, pretty please :)

Not everyone, just us I believe :) I'm going to a retreat with my youth group, to roll around in the three feet of snow currently blanketing everywhere around here. Cause every time I step outside there's gonna be someone to push me in it :P And then of course I pull them after me. So we both get snowy.

^Ditto, Tur! :P

^^3ft of snow?! :surprise: Lucky! We got about 2 in. last week... lol, yeah. It snows 2 in. one day, then two days later its 78 degrees F. Yup, theres Texas weather for you.

Anyway... I am enjoying A Rift in time VERY much, and it is hopping up on my fav. RPG list. I think it has lots of potential for an awesome RPG as long as everyone stays with it once the plot starts to thicken. :)

I'm liking A Rift in Time too! I really like sci-fi, but it can be hard to come up with plots-this one sounds cool!

Lol, Ellie--it would seem that your RPG is a big hit. Kudos to you. :)

We have no snow here. I haven't worn even a sweatshirt for over a week (in contrast, everyone else seems to wear clothing according to season--February requires heavy coats, regardless of the temperature. :confused2:), and it's almost warm enough to wear shorts. I envy all of you who have snow.

The last of our snow is slowly melting away...but it's still as cold as :locked: out here. *burr*

Ha... Our snow melted within the hour it fell. And as for clothing, that depends on weather you are cold-adapted or not. I know a girl who lived in Canada before moving here, and she is always wearing capris and a t-shirt even on the coldest days. For me, Its almost always jeans and a t-shirt, unless it gets unusually cold in our house (Say, after one of my sisters accadentaly didn't close the back door all day, and it was open ALL NIGHT. The night it snowed, too.....)

But back on subject, I'll say what Aerandir has already said, Kudos to you, Ellie! Great plot, Great story, great characters... Great! :P

Lol. The weird thing is, I spent the first five years of my life on an island in the Caribbean, and then lived in South America, and then moved here, but I'm more comfortable wearing less in cold weather than everyone else around here (except one of my sisters), who bundle up in like four layers of clothing when we get a half-inch of snow. *shrug* It's all too confusing for my poor brain.

Lol. I could quote SG quoting myself and tell Ellie once again that his plot is really cool, or I could just thank Raven for restarting And Legends Became Real. Thanks, Raven!

I was wondering, have any of you done any LARPing (Live Action Role Play)?
I have heard a lot of it and it's quite popular among the kids here, but... I think it... well.... I don't know anything about it. Not sure that kind of RPing appeals to me... I mean I lile acting, but this... would just seem a bit.... I don't know...
Can anyone enlighten me, please? :-)

By live action roleplay I'm assuming you just mean taking a character and acting him/her out? I only have one friend I've ever been interested in doing something like that with, and thus far it's been quite an entertaining success. We've acted humorous twists with our rpg characters, as well as book parodies (usually Harry Potter). If you ever try it, it can be awkward unless you're both good at acting/improvising and you feel completely comfortable around that person.
