wow, I was a member here, wasn't I? not a very good one, I'm sure, but a member nontheless. :-D which takes me back to the "I should see LotR again" thing... to catch up on my Legolas-ness. it's been a... year.

PD, so nice to see you here!!!! it's okay, we are always here when your fancy pokes at you to talk about Legolas or whatever <3333 And I am with you, my attention has been with pirates recently, but it is slowly merging back to my original fandom

Mine's actually drawn even. I have Pirates and LOTR both memorized, but I think it's because they're still cranking out new Pirates flicks, and LOTR has been completed for five years. It's not as new and fresh. But hey, there's always the Hobbit to look forward to in the fall of '09! There's a rumour circulating that uur dearest Leggy will be featured in the film. It would only make sense since half of the setting is in Mirkwood, which is his home, and for the female audience members, that would be a major draw. lol. :D I know that right there would make me even more excited.

Millie, I know, I know. but tis the same for me... PotC is just bigger at the moment...

Pan, thanks... :teehee: well, I don't mind talking about Legolas even now, but I'm afraid I might be a tad rusty at it. ah, yes everything always cycles back around eventually. ;) (and I'm actually sorta scared to watch LotR again because I'm afraid the whole craze might kick back in... :erm:)

but I don't think it's really about what's newer for me... that might help a little bit, but overall I just think that I'm relating more to the Pirates movies than I did to LotR. And it's really what I'm enjoying talking, writing, and watching. there's just a closer draw to the PotC characters at the moment. But I'm sure it'll even out someday. :-D

and about Legolas in The Hobbit... hm, I dunno if I like the idea or not. It's sorta weird to me considering he's not in the books. And I do like things to follow their stories if at all possible. :erm: I mean I'm not a strict stickler for it, but it is nice... and I guess what I'm really afraid of is that it'll just turn into LotR all over again. :eyeroll:

I know exactly what you mean. XD I'm not quite sure what it is for me either. That's just my theory.

Yeah, 'tis true, 'tis true. Orlando said he's up for it (so he's not up for a Pirates 4, but he's up for the Hobbit? o_O Sorry...that was a little off-topic.) I don't know...I'm just looking forward to being pleasantly surprised. Which ever way PJ decides to do it in the end, I'm sure he'll do it marvellously. If he doesn't...well, he'll have several hundred million fans to answer to, LOL.

^Miluiel Evenstar, lol ur right there.and Lando's interested? great.i definately wouldnt mind if he played just a very short cameo,i mean its not like it would change the whole story.

PD, i reckon its cool when you havent watched LotR for a while, then watch them again.its like falling in love with the movies all over again.for me anyway.

^I agree. I think PJ did a marvellous job with staying true to the story and adding this to make it clearer to the viewer at the same time. He found the happy medium. I definitely wouldn't like it if Orlando had a predominant part in the movie and he just suddenly popped up everywhere, but I think it would be neat to see him maybe in a few scenes.

But I also agree with PD, I wouldn't want to see it become another LOTR. Not that LOTR wasn't amazing, but the Hobbit is its own story. It's connected to LOTR, but it's also different.

Millie, hehe, I'm just happy to hear I'm not the only one... so I don't feel like quite as much of a betrayer. :P Pirates is just really special to me now. (not saying that LotR isn't though!)

I hope PJ will be able to pull it off. :erm: But I'm sure you guys are right... he did a good job with LotR, he should know what the fans want and what's right for The Hobbit. If OB only played in a short cameo like goldelf said I wouldn't mind it much, but I don't want him to be in it too much. :erm: A happy medium would be just fine with me if they have to bring Legolas in.... I just don't want the story to become Legolas, Gandalf, and Aragorn left and right... and then I might as well watch LotR. lol yeah, Millie, it's not that LotR isn't great, but The Hobbit and LotR need to be separate stories like they are.

goldelf, hmmm, I never thought about it like that... *taps chin* but I suppose you do have a point. hopefully it will be like that... or at least a little like that.

I know exactly what you mean. :) I've been trying to watch LOTR for each time I watch Pirates now. And thus far I've been failing dismally, lol.

I'm confident in PJ. If he had messed up one of the LOTR movies, I would be a lot less confident. But ROTK won all of the 11 Oscars it was nominated for. So clearly we're not the only ones that thought he did well, lol. I think between him, Fran and Phillipa (I can't recall if she's signed on for the Hobbit...), they can do it again.

I'm not a Legolas fan anymore so could you take Mrs. Obi-Wan Kenobi off the list, please? thanks. :)
