I've never been a fond lover of anime, but if the rpg's intriguing enough I just might join it.
I actually got nominated for longest post member award. many thanks to whoever rper did so (and I'm fairly certain it was an rper). Aerandir, I nominated you for Merry/Pippin award as your rpg posts never fail to brighten my day.
thanks for all your Idea of the Month votes! sitting down to read through those entries was no small feat.

I've never seen any anime, but as long as I understood the plot and all, I'd probably join!

Ditto to LDM, thanks for voting everyone I really enjoyed reading all the entries!
See, everyone I would have nominated for an award is already nominated, so I have nothing to do. Guess lots of people think like me. Nothing new there
But I miss RP discussion! *Picks a random question* Okay, so which do you think you're better at: plot development or character development? Do you like dialogue or action? For me I think it's more character development, I'm more than happy to follow along whatever plot someone else has and throw in suggestions occasionally. Lately I've been getting better at plot stuff, though, because an RP works much better if everyone posting has their own little twist to contribute.

the Merry/Pippin Award? Thanks, LDM. Just so you know, your RPG posts (at least in the RPGs that I'm in too) generally have the same effect. They're long, funny, and refreshing.
So you deserve the Ent award, too. You have nice long posts compared to the rest of us.
Lol, Ea. The Phantom of the RPer's club? That's a cool title. I certainly do feel like I could be called a phantom, though it's not like I'm hard to see. I think I'm kind of apparent in this thread.

^yours are longer than mine by a mile. I've always thought of you as the one able to whip up any interesting post out of absolutely nothing
Speaking from the perspective of a perfect plot fanatic, I count myself better at plot development. I can't rp without some sort of direction or action scenes to move it along. Even if there is no plot around, I tend to formulate the beginnings of one out of nowhere and add to it as I go along - which explains how my plots tend to seem a bit spontaneous. I've only been in three rpgs where I've actually had to employ character developement.

Lol--I totally go for character development all the time. I love thinking up backgrounds for my characters and referring back to them in the RPG, though I get annoyed if it dies shortly afterwards.
As for the long posts, a lot of the time I feel like I'm babbling and adding too many different things that just confuse other people.

I like to develop my characters more than I like to develop the plot. I grow really attached to my characters. As for dialouge and action, I like a good combination.

It depends on the RP and the character for me- sometimes if I have a character I really like, I'll spend more time developing him/her. Usually I'll kinda go along with the plot, not doing too much to change it. But then, some RPs lend themselves more to plot or character development. Some have a lot of action going, and my character is fighting for his/her life or something, and doesn't have much time for character development. lol

^I agree with Elenya...it really depends on how much I like my character and how much i like the rp in order on how much i try and increase the characters personailty and such...

Character development is inevitable in all rpgs you happen to join. As long as you play that character, you are that character and you discover something new about him/her with every post. As for dialogue, it's good as long as it blends talk and action. I've grown averse to aimless palaver; as long as dialogue's critical either to plot or character development, I'm good with it.

I come up with the weirdest ideas and twists for my chars history, just from others ideas or the surroundins in the RPG that come up...

this is so pathetic... I've been lingering on this forum for the past hour or so, refreshing Sharky's End every twenty minutes...

^I do that too. I'll stop by Sharkey's End, go to a different section of the forum for a couple of minutes, go back to Sharkey's End, repeat the process...lol

I do all my Sharky's End stuff, and then go on to other parts of the forum if I have time. Usually this tends to happen while I'm waiting for you to post, LDM As a way to pass the time. And my email gets so neglected it's disgraceful. But when nobody's on Sharky's End (and nobody really is now) I go off and play Zoo Tycoon. Right now I'll likely catch up on my email and then either go to bed or go play it, depending on how I feel at that point. Or perhaps I'll research Numenor so I can start that long-overdue Numenorian RP I mused about a while ago But it will likely be bed...I feel sort of tired and depressed and I think I need sleep and then I need to spend saturday huddled in front of the computer in my pyjamas.
Anyway...I'm way mostly character development, and I tend to prefer dialogue to action, though this is by no means consistant. Sometimes dialogue can be dead boring.

HAH!!!!!!!! That's what I do almost all the time. Think of how pathetic I must feel.
I always go to the LotR Books section first, simply because it's the top, and then I visit Sharky's End. Before posting, I go to the various other sections of the forum while I think up what my posts are going to be like. It works.
