Good to have you back, FF. (lol Yes, the chewing... *sigh*) Wonder where Starlight is? Maybe she's been busy, like we have... I think she said she would have a lot less time to come on here, at one point. Like your banner, btw. And "the day shall come again" is a good phrase to remember... It's kind of hopeful, which helps when you've had a bad day like i have. (Well, at least i get to be like Frodo in not having an easy time right now...) Ah, well.
Have a virtual birthday brownie--we shouldn't have to celebrate the 22nd just on that day. *hugs Frodo*

^I know, we were (are) obsessed...
*bumps*
Forgive me for forsaking you for so long! I still dont' know how much I'll be on here, but I thought I should stop by. You know, It was around this time of year that I became a fan of Frodo (and thus LotR), so this is kind of our 6th "anniversary." lol
Speaking of LotR, today i found out someone i was vaguely acquainted with here at college is as huge a fan as i am! He was threating to tie up a friend who hadn't seen the movies, to make him watch them.
Guess that's all for now, but I'll probably be back for that 'Christmas Reunion Party' i've heard about...

Well, happy anniversary to the two of you! Haha, that's awesome. It's always great to meet other crazed Ringers.
Oh, I do hope you come back for the reunion! I hope a lot of people come back. People have been working so hard at it, and I'd love to see all those that I haven't seen in a while. It seems a lot of people have been pulled away by real life recently.

I know, and it's like that on a different forum i'm part of, too... But hopefully they'll/we'll be back before long. I guess i'll head over to the reunion now. (Oh, and thanks! I always appreciate my "anniversary," even when i'm in a different phase of my interests.)

Why not? It's like *turns into a mindless fangirl zombie* No! I AM NOT A FANGIRL! (but my brain seems to think that Frodo is coughsexycough when he is eating...) *returns to normal state* I think I'll run away now after embarrassing myself...

I can't really think of anything else to say, so i'll blame it on my hiccups. (Grr...)

Oh gosh. I feel like I've nothing better to do than post "Hi I'm back" on this thread, only to disappear for an uncertain period of time.
I just wanted to say that I'm really sorry to be neglecting you guys for so long. I still love A-U and our club and all of you. I haven't talked to you for such a long time! I hope you're all doing fine.
I guess we should somehow get this club going again. Can any of you think of an interesting topic?
I'll just start with some random thoughts.
I rewatched all LotR movies during Christmas break, and it was so amazing. I could never forget how amazing LotR is, but still it touches me anew every time I see it again. And again, I realized how much Frodo is suffering during the journey. Even though I'm always slightly distracted from the story by his looks , the thought of what he is going through hurts almost physically.
Many people claim that Sam is the real hero, that Frodo would have failed without him. It is true, he would have failed. But that's not really the point. There's a beautiful thing that I once read: "Sam was ready to give his life for the quest. Frodo gave his soul."
This sums up my feelings very well.
[/end rant]
So, I just needed to get this written down.

Good to have you back FF!
Ooh, that's a great quote! I admit I believe Sam is a hero of the story. But you have to think - if Sam had been the one to own and carry the Ring for 20 years and then take it into Mordor, would he have done better? Would he have needed someone to help him along? So I think the two are both incredibly essential. Which, added to Smeagol and what Merry and Pippin did, shows that hobbits were the true forces at work.
I also was just watching FotR the other day, and I really wish we could've seen hobbits acting like hobbits more.

Well, if Sam had been the one to carry the ring, I think he never would have made it as far as Frodo. But it doesn't really matter, since we are told clearly that it was not Sam's burden to bear, but Frodo's.
Anyway, I just love both of them, they are both heroes, the real heroes of LotR. Perhaps Frodo is in a way just closer to my heart.
And Nurr, I just have to tell you that I loved, loved, LOVED the Frodo banner you had until yesterday.

Leia, I've (finally) added you to the member list on the other one. (Oh, look, the mysterious Eariel reappears... )
FF, I loved your post from a while back, about Frodo "losing his soul." I don't like it when people treat him like a failure. Sam was definitely a hero, but so was Frodo. Sorry.[/rant] You're right, it does hurt physically when you watch him suffer, especially, when you're as crazy about him as we are.
And sadly, I know what you mean about posting "hi" and then vanishing back into thin air... *guilty* I'm gonna try to drop by more often, but i guess as long as we all understand each other's "vanishing tendency," then we won't have to keep apologizing. Poor Frodo, losing his fangirls to real life/other fantasy worlds...but we always come back, don't we? lol

I am really great. I will be better in August, when I can return to my life once more. I miss all of my friends so much already...
But I am sure to have an exciting summer with this RotR...
