Guess what guys? I'm attempting to make Haldir's Helm's Deep costume. So far, I've barely started cos I have to get myself all the material.... there's clay involved

As for my sewing project, I'm almost done with my Scottish Ren-faire costume! (Took a week longer than expected 'cause I'm a lazy bum) <-- I decided to leave out the grommets in the front of the bodice and just use a kilt pin to keep it closed. It actually looks pretty cool. Now all I need to do is finish with the hem-tape and make the overskirt. *Sigh* I'm going to have to hustle. The Ren-Faire is tomorrow.

my armour is mostly made out of a type of clay ... it's going to crack after awhile, so I should be doing it with fibreglass, but I don't know how to use fibreglass yet, so clay it is!!!

MY OVERDRESS IS FINISHED!!! MY OVERDRESS IS FINISHED!!!

(Well...almost. I still have to trim the edges of the sleeves so that you see only the trim on the top there, but I'm not doing that tille I get the undress finished.)

Heres a bunch of pictures. Depending on monitor brightness, you probably won't be seeing the color of the actualy thing, and flash does murder on fabrics.

I also finished one of the lower sleeves. I did sew up the second one, but I cut it slightly curve and it wasn't supposed to be the same way, but I forgot to reverse the curve when I was cutting out the second one, so now I have to do that over.

I'm not sure about the dress...the woman at hancock's said it was pannee, but I don't think it is because the sleeves are panne and they don't have the same "look" or "feel" to it. So I looked around, found some silk velvet at hancock;s and compared. It feels more like silk vevlet, so I suppose that's what it is.

i know the sleeves are huge. I used my own pattern, and I was sitting at the table, drawing it out when mom comes up behind me...this is our conversation...

Mom: Make it longer.
Me: Okay. *makes pattern longer*
Mom: Longer...longer...longer...there!
Me: *is speechless*
Me: *squeaks* Why do you want it so long?
Mom: Well, you said the sleeves are supposed to be really long in the actual one
Me: Yeah, but my length is sane!
Mom: So what? I thought you were going for accuracy. Besides, we bought four yards of the stuff, might as well use as much of it as possible.

So that explains the length. The sleeves trail on the floor *grrr*

Yesh, yesh, I shall take pictures, since none were really taken at the Faire. (I got a cool circlet!!) I'll also take pictures of me in my "Swing" outfit, even though I didn't make it.

Again with me and my dresses. I told my mom I was going to make an Arwen dress soon, and that she couldn't stop me, and she was like " ...Okay" Then I showed her Arwen's Blood Red and Arwen's Rose dresses, and asked her which one she liked better. She picked the Rose one, so I yelled "ROSE IT IS!!" And again she went" ...Okay". So that's my next LotR project, which I will be starting as soon as possible. ^_^

I got my patterns for Arwen's Rose Dress! I also have the money for the fabric and stuff, so it'll be started shortly!!! I'm using McCall's 4490 and 4491. I will be using view C of 4490 for the underdress, (changing the neckline to a small V) and view D from 4491 for the overdress. (Again, changing neckline to a small V, and also altering the sleeves a bit and opening the front)
