I thought the cannibal island scene was fantastic. but I have to admit...I enjoyed the scenes on the Flying Dutchman ship the best!
Don't get me wrong, the island scene brought back the classic humor of Captain Jack perfectly, but the Flying Dutchman I thought was more the main focus of the film, and I did think the animation was done in so much detail, the creatures of Davy Jones really looked real.

i totally agree with you on that, the scenes with the Dutchman were the best...of course, i've always wondered why it was called the Flying Dutchman...

Yeah, Ted & Terry took quite a bit of artistic license on the plot. The whole idea of all three of these movies, though, has been to make the ultimate pirate movie(s), and every good pirate movie deals with a bit of the supernatural (since pirates themselves were often very superstitious). What Ted & Terry have done (with all three of them) is taken bits and pieces from various parts of nautical folklore and come up with creative plots that manage to intricately weave it all together while still staying relatively true to each (the Flying Dutchman is still an unnaturally fast ghost ship, and Davy Jones is still a devil of the sea). However, I don't think any of them delve deeper into mythology and the supernatural than the third one. It's going to be very interesting, to be sure.

ok, yeah they did change things to make them more effective in the storytelling, while using real names, places, ships, people ect. They blended the different tales into three storylines while still keeping to the original tales.

yep, i think it is last. and i believe is comes out in may.
ohh, i have news!!!
the pictures everyone thought were of Jack in the next movie aren't him! they're FAKE! i forgot the guy's name but he's the one with the exelent Jack Sparrow costumes on eBay. well. he made the costume after seeing stuff from the 3rd movie and then he took pictures of it. naturally he wanted to see what Johnny Depp would look like in the costume so he did a little photoshopping and they are what you have seen!
or that's what i heard.

I gotta find these Jack Sparrow books. It's almost my lil cousin's b-day and she's probably a bigger pirate's fan than me so I think she'll like them.

May's a long time away. and there's AP testing in May. I do hope I don't have an AP test on the day of the release. Unless it's my last one and it's in the morning, so I can watch it after. Hmm....gotta go check my calendar.
