We have A Levels when your 17/18 and at the same time you apply to uni's with your predicted grades. They then make you an offer; ie AAB, if you get those grades in your A Levels you get your place, if not then you have to go through clearing and try and get a place at another university that has room for you. Uni for us is 18/19 to 20/21 if you are doing a normal course of 3 years.
Before Uni you have Colledge of 16-18, and its here you do A-Levals, and before that School whitch is 10/11 to 16 and before that either prep school or junior school.

:blink: your system just gave me a headache lol. And what exactly is A-Levels? Is it a test? Is it a course? What is it?

Our system is:

Grundskola (Compulsory/Primary/Elementary): 7-15 years old
Gymnasium (High School): 16-18 years old
Högskola/Universitet (College/University): 19 and above. All depending on what you study, for how long you want to study and when in your life you want to study.

You apply for High School the last year of Grundskola (9th grade). You apply for University the last year of Gymnasium (12th grade).

Our High Schools and Universities are often 'themed' or 'profiled', meaning they might be specializing in arts, music, theater, sports, IT etc. So you pick and choose which High School and University you want to go to depending on your needs, wants and interests. Granted there are also several High Schools and Universities that are theme-less and offer a more general education. So it's all up to you and what you want to study and where.

Man, our system is downright simple compared to every one else's. But somehow, I feel like I would complicate it if I tried to explain it.

Yeah i have 5 days left but 3 of those will be spent traveling round the country doing concerts, so not many says left for revision and prep...eeeeeeeeek

School may be evil but its really good fun and you get to be with you mates and learn cool stuff. I'm afraid i love school :).

Thank you sweetie... Its just that I was all geared up for anthropology, or some other social art, when my dad came telling me that he thinks that I should do business. BUSINESS! Im like... failing math >.< It made me very confuzzled and unhappy. Plus Im scared that I wont get in to what I want...

Saira i know you've gone and you won't read this but i'm gonna say it anyway on the off chnace you can't resist and come and have a quick look in on us.
Your dad probebly had his reasons for asking you to do buissness, it is useful but you should do what YOU want, talk to him about it so that he can support you. Thats all he probs wants to do, he's your dad, he'l want the best for you.
Do NOT be scared; you are really dedicated to your work; we all know that. Someone as dedicated as you will not fail becuase we all know that you will try your hardest. And if you do fail; there are so many oppertunity's out there for you.

I know you will be shakeing your head and still be worried becuase that is what everyone does. But trust yourself; i do not know you well it is true. But what i have seen of you is admirable and something worth fighting for. Belive in yourself and you will achive great things Saira. :)

I just like whatever language Eru uses.. It has awesome accents. We don't have accents in Engish, like the French do... or the language that Eru uses... I'm jealous.

Actually, Darky, are you saying that we don't have accents as English speaking people, like dialects? I have a really bad accent, and people make fun of it all the time. :explode:

Yeah we have loaaadsa accents. I have an RP accent whitch is the most accentless you can get and when i'm angry i often slip into a very posh accent *hey i live in oxford don't knock it its how alot of us speak even though we're not posh*
and when i'm excited i slip back into a slight irish accent becuase thats my mothers country.
Accents DEFIANTLY exists in England.
