Ah, poo sticks. He should stay in the alternate dimesion, where he won't bother me (Harsh, I know. I'm just extremely upset that Tosh and Owen are going to be leaving)
I saw "Fragments" My favorite part has to be the pteradactyl scene. When Jack laughed, he sounded a bit embarresed. Odd....

I'm sad Tosh (and Owen) are gone too. Tosh was my favourite character, I'll really miss her. Characters die all the time, it's horrible for a loyal viewer, but just like in real life we have to pick up the pieces and move on.
Tosh and Owen can and never will be truly replaced. But there spaces have to be filled on the show. Martha makes perfect sense, Mickey seems a bit left of field. But I'm willing to give it, and him a chance.
I'm personally more concerned of the alleged toning down of the show. The writing and the more adult nature of the show is what sets it apart from Doctor Who and is one of the main reasons why I love the show so much. Replace a character, but do not mess up the writing.

Ditto! You see, I like Doctor Who because its toned down. Its a fun show that just plain fun to watch. But Torchwood is more real life, in the sense that things happen like they would in the real world. Bad things happen, things get messy, and people are hurt, sometimes from those they love. That raw intensity is what makes Torchwood such a good show: it doesn't spare its viewers from the dirt and evils.

Precisely. It's nice to have a show like that, because sometimes all the fluffy EverybodyWinsAndLivesAndLetsBakeCookies shows get a bit annoying, particularly when you're in a bad mood.

Yupyupyup.
Doctor Who is fun and entertaining. Yes it will deal with serious issues and what not, as seen in last Saturdays episode. But Torchwood is worlds apart.

Amen! The thing I also love about Torchwood: its all over the map. Every epsidoe is so different from the next. You;ve got one episode where a blowfish is driving a sparts car and an alien that's had to go through murder rehab, you've got an episode where old memories (and fake ones) are awakened and make grown men cry (very sad), you've got a chiller episode where characters in film come to life and steal your last breath, and then you've got episodes that are just blood baths. Its amazing. It feels like I'm watching completely different shows that are all fantastic. (and that have my lover Ianto) Thefunny thing is, I'll watch one episode and think "Oooo! I should show this to my mom and dad. They'd love it!" and then the very next episode I'll think "Ooo...maybe not. Oh.....wow...that's.....interesting. Yeah, I'm not going to show them."

Just saw the finale last night. All I can say is, "WOW" ! I didn't think Tosh and Owen's deaths would affect me too much, since I knew we were going to lose them (bad spoilerhound, that's me :|), but OMG, I definitely shed a few tears ! I started getting misty-eyed when Tosh and Owen were having their "goodbye conversation", after that, the sequence of scenes that showed Jack, Gwen, and Ianto deleting their records from the database, putting away their possessions, etc. absolutely tore me up ! I didn't sob or anything, but it took me a few minutes to recover from that. Thank goodness the Graham Norton Show was on afterwards and I had seeing Doctor Who Number 10, David Tennant, to look forward to .
Even with the jolting losses of Tosh & Owen, though, it was still a great episode. One reaction I had that I thought was interesting was I found I kind of liked Captain Hart by the end of the episode. When I saw him in the season two premiere, I didn't like him much, but I sort of do now- he obviously loves Jack still. I doubt he would have come back to help the rest of the team get things under control and take care of Grey if he didn't. As for Grey, the jury's still out on the way I feel about him . On the one hand, it's hard not to feel a little sorry for him, since whatever the "creatures" who destroyed Boeshane Peninsula and decimated its inhabitants were, it sounds like they did horrible things to any prisoners they took. But on the other, I think Grey focused his hatred too much on Jack, who basically said he never stopped looking for aforementioned individual. I'm hoping seeing that Jack cryogenically froze him means we'll get a more complete resolution of that situation in the next season.
Another thing I have to say about this episode was it had a treasure trove of absolutely great moments- the couple between Rhys and Gwen were very sweet (I'm thinking their marriage will have its occasional problems, but in general, I think Rhys will be a very dependable, rock-solid support and partner for Gwen ), the heartbreakingly good ones that made up the last 15-20 minutes of the episode, the occasional and welcome comic relief provided by Andy and Captain Hart, etc. .

I saw the preview for Exit Wounds and I had a mini freak out. No, not because Jack was tied to the wall (that had its own freak out) but because of Grey (I'm assuming it's Grey. I'm pretty sure he had an American accent) Jack asked "What do you want" and Grey replied "I want you to suffer" If that really is Grey, I feel so bad for Jack. Also, I loved the part where John said "boom" and made an explosion motion with his hand. That made me chuckle. I wonder what he blew up.

I love John so much. Even though he seemed seriously whiny every once and a while.
"Maybe now you'll want to spend more time with me."
"All that time, and you couldn't spare any for me."
Etc.
Oh shuttup. Too bad I love him.

I started out hating John's guts, because I knew that the explosions he caused would in one way or another kill Tosh and Owen, and because he was being a big huge jerk Like Tar-Dis...Tar-Dorian! You changed your name! Ah! Well, I guess it sorta fits your banner. Anyway, Like Tar-Dorian said, "Maybe now you'll want to spend more time with me." "All that time, and you couldn't spare any for me. Etc." )
But then, after I realized he was doing it to avoid being blown up, and that he really was nice, I softened up. I actually like him now.
I do have one question....When Jack comes out of the cyrogenic chamber and meets Grey, he just whips out a chloroform cloth! Where did it come from? Are all Torchwood operatives equipped with chloroform cloths, folded up and sealed in a convient bag like wet wipes? I just thought it was a bit wierd....
I'm so sad the season is over. *sniff*

If anyone's interested, I made a fan video of the two series finale in Torchwood and the last two finales in Doctor Who. You should check it out. But be careful, spoilers are amidst!

@ Nauriel- I'll be changing my name back after Wednesday...I just like Tar-Dis entirely too much.
@Caunion- I really love that vid, it was really well done.
Oh, and I was totally thinking the same thing about the random chloroform coming out of nowhere. He just had been keeping that in his pocket for 100-odd years or so?
And I know this is going to sound terrible, but I really think he should have just killed Grey. Freezing him is going to do absoutely nothing to help him. When John suggested it, I was just like "finally! Someone with some common sense at last!"
Besides, all Grey did the whole time was whine about how he was still alive. Put him out of his misery for goodness sake!

Great video! It made me cry all over again. The timing was great too: when the cybermen were marching, they matched the beat of the music exactly. THe music is so sad too...
I don't think they should have killed Grey...but if he had died, I wouldn't have cared.
I was thinking....I'm pretty sure Jack is now older than the Doctor. I mean, he spent well over 1000 years underground, and on top of that he was already a couple hundred years old.

Caunion, you just made me cry again.
Grey... is meh. You know, maybe Gwen will go down there sometime and kill Grey. Or Ianto will. 'Cuz they sure don't like him. And then they wouldn't have to deal with him in the freezer.
Hee. Jack being older than the Doctor. I'm seeing an argument. xD

I would love to see Ianto kill Grey. That would be so amazing.
And Jack may be older than the Doctor, but Jack still has nothing on him. Sorry. But I would love to see that conversation.
"Technically, I'm older than you."
"I spent my life traveling through time. You spent your time six feet under."

So true. Jack may be older, but... he was dead for probably half that time. So. xD
