I need to call upon you seamstresses for help.
Does anyone know of any patterns that are similar to Elizabeth's vest in her pirate costume in POTC 2:DMC?
I really need one, and am about ready to shoot myself for not being able to find the blasted thing!!

^Hmm do you have a screencap of it? I didn't really pay attention what it looks like, haha
I just bought a mannequin.. I hope it'll make it easier for me to actually do a better costume

I still need a mannequin!! pooey....
As for the picture, I don't have screencaps, but go here: http://costumersguide.com/potc2_pirate.shtml
I LOVE costumer's Guide, her reference pictures and costumes make me drool.
Ooh, I should show you guys my pirate shirt!
I'm very proud of it.
and as for her vest pattern, I'm actually in the middle of drafting/making one out of muslin, so I'll get back to ya on how that's going.

Hey,
I haven't been on in a while, but I really want to make Eowyn Shield Maiden-type dress from McCall's pattern (goes and finds pattern) M4492 pattern and Arwens Bloodred dress or Corination dress from McCalls M4491 pattern. I just have to tell my mom now. I hope she will let me do it. I want to make the Eowyn dress tough enough so that I can roll down a hill in it and then throw it in the washing machine and not have to worry about it.
Wish me luck! *crosses fingers...and toes...and eyes*

Well, as I suspected, she isn't all that happy about it, but she will let me do it. I will probably have to do everything on me own though, including buying to fabric and such. Oh well... at least I get to do it, even without the support of my sewing-genius mother...
