Can I join please?
I've been pulling out of quite a few contests recently which just makes me feel bad and it must be annoying for the host too, so what I do now is make the entry, and then say I'll enter and put up the entry. That way if it goes wrong and I don't have time to make another one I don't have to pull out

I'd love to join! I've always loved playing around with graphics even if I don't really fancy my own work, hehe.
My advice to fellow graphic makers would be; don't be afraid to play around with colors or use a lot of color! Also, the Brightness/Contrast feature could be your friend (I know it's mine!)

Wow, I never would have expected that to be your advice, Eru.
*can think of quite a few seizure-inducingly bright banners in Eru's past signatures*

I'm not very good, but I'd like to join because I do enjoy making them a lot.
Advice....*ponders* Sometimes it's more fun to figure out how to do an effect on your own than using a tutorial because you a) figured it out without someone else telling you and b) can randomly discover other things at the same time!

could...I... err... join?
I dabble in graphics, icons seem to be the easiest for me. I've been using GIMP for over a year now, but only making graphics seriously since this summer.
I love fiddling. And textures, and sparly brushes, they seem to be the most amazing things ever created since sliced bread. Honestly.

I'll join... please?
I'm a little lazy nowadays... I think the little skill that I had went splat when I lost the willpower to open the program up

I wanna join! I used to make graphics a whole lot and stopped cause I was so busy, but now I'm trying to get back into it. But lately when making banners I've been totally uninspired and not really known what to do with them. I'm in a creative rut right now and need to learn new methods and styles for graphics, especially since I'm making banners for people at the moment.

Unfortunately.. it is really late at night and I am too lazy to put everyone up on the list right now, but you are all welcome to join.
I am very excited, I just downloaded a fair amount of brushes, textures, patterns, and fonts onto my computer.
Which type, in each catergory, do you find to be most useful?
To me:
Brushes - Probably either the texture, decorative, or dots and lines. I typically make graphics that are either grungy or simple, so I use a bit of both.
Textures - Well, I like the paper ones the best.
Patterns - I haven't used them enough to really tell, but I do like the diagonal lines one the best right now.
Fonts - Most usely would have to be scripty or standard, but for some project the right random font just HAS to be used.

Hmm... let's see.
Brushes - Script brushes with little words, flowy flowery brushes, line brushes, and splatter brushes are my current favorites.
Textures - I think paper ones.
Patterns - I like ones with little floral wallpapery patterns on them. But I don't really use them that much.
Fonts - I really love cursive-y fonts. My old Photoshop wouldn't let me download fonts, and now my new one has a cursivey font, and it's pretty much the only one I use. Though, I also use some 'normal' fonts now and then, such as Times New Roman and the like and the Arials.

Brushes - for some reason I can't figure them out... Well I can, but I can't download any more 'cause of the way my computer is...
Textures - I just love them all
Patterns - I don't really use them...
Text - Nice swirly scripty stuff

Brushes:It depends on what type graphic I make. When I make banners usually I don't use brushes-maybe sometimes some script brushes or dots and lines. When I make photo-manipulations and blends I use some swirly brushes to make some ornaments. And when I make avatars I use some swirly brushes too
Textures: Mainly for blends, manipulations and avatars. On banners I make some colour adjustments recently. For blends and manipulations:It depends on the look of the graphic-sometimes I use more grungy stuff, sometimes I use more bright and "clear" textures. On avatars I usually put a gradient texture.
Patterns:I don't use them a lot either...
Text:Again it depends on the type of graphic and on the characters that are featured in the avatar/banner/blend/photo-manipulation.If there are women on the graphic I usually put swirly text and for males I usually choose more bold fonts-like Gothic fonts or initials..

Brushes- I have a bunch of random ones downloaded on my computer, but I usually use swirls, grungy ones, or dots. I have some torn paper ones that I like, too.
Textures- Oh, all kinds here. lol I don't think I really have a type that I use more than others.
Patterns- I don't use patterns that much, actually.
Fonts- I usually use scripty, fancy-ish fonts.
