Yes, I really hated how they did that. That was the only thing that I didn't like about the lotr movies.

Yes, and it was basically out-of-character for everyone. Gollum didn't want to be *to* obvious, Frodo trusted Sam more than this slimey creature, and -- well, I suppose Sam was pretty much in character. Except.. although he would have despaired, I don't think he would have sat down and cried... Y'know? He would have done pretty much, I think, what he did in the books when Frodo "died". Despair awhile, tell himself to stop it, and then do what must be done. Anyway, other people must want a turn. *Relinquishes microphone*

It's okay, lol. Talk all you want!
And, also, no matter what Frodo said, Sam would not have left him while he was still alive. Never.

I think they did this scene with Frodo sending Sam away (although it is not in the book) because it became more exciting and dramatical. And in fact it worked - no matter if you like the change or not...

I'm still here, but no one else seems to be..... Usually I'm the one who is the last to post before the club goes into a hibernation mode.

Me! I´m still here waiting to post something useful...what about a question: What were your favourite scenes with Sam in LotR?
I like all scenes with him, but probably the most when he carries Frodo and The End of all Things. It shows so well the relationship between the two...

I really like the Breaking of the Felloship scene. I cried through that the first time! Yes, the End of All Things is a very tearful scene, as well!
~Glad to see that you're still here!

Oh! Me! Me! I have a scene! The one where they talk about the story that would someday be written about them. And the best thing about that, I think, is that it came true! "And Frodo wouldn't have gotten far without Sam."

You´re right, that is so beautiful. I loved the idea since I read it in the book.
Varda: I also cried when I saw this the first time, and I still cry today through all these sad scenes (I think I´ve seen LotR 15 times or something like that, but no matter, I always cry as if I saw it the first time)

I never enjoyed crying at movies so I've always tried not to but I did get choked up at a few parts in RotK, which is rare for me.

Yes! I would love to have someone like Sam as a friend!
^Not really about Sam, but I cried for an hour after I watched the EE Grey Havens scene!
