That's a good idea Eariel - talking about changing headers for every section - but as far as I know it is not possible if you use a template. With HTML it could surely be done, but I'm not that good in HTML, so I don't know how to do it. Well, we'll see. Just tell me if you want me to make a header... I completely understand if you want to use one made by yourself
I'm glad both of you got to claim an avvie, an TT is totally right about this: It's a special pleasure for me to make a Frodo avatar...

Hey everybody! Ah, you had a bunch of avvies people could claim Forever! Darn, I miss everything!

Poor Itarilde. Hopefully you'll get find out in time next time... I believe she's made lots of other avies (or some, at least ) so if it's okay with her i guess you could use one of those until the next claim. If you want, that it is.
I would like you to make my header, Forever. I would love to learn more about Html, but i'm not that good with it either. I'll have to learn so that i can do all that neat stuff i dream up for my site...well, hopefully eventually. For the banner, though, I was thinking it could have a pic of Frodo smiling (at the Havens, perhaps ) on one side and Sam smiling on the other...on which ever side where each would be "looking" more toward the other side (if the pics were at an angle) if you know what i mean...

*skips in* *shows off gorgeous new avvie* Hey everybody! I'm the only one who hasn't posted on this page yet, so I figured I might as well jump in!
Forever, I know I tanked you in the other thread, but thank you agains so much for the avatar. It makes me smile every time I look at it.
Itarilde, I think there may still be one left if you want to hurry up and claim it. Alll the Frodo ones have been taken though.
Eariel, that design for your header sounds lovely. I'm sure you're site's going to be absolutely smashing when it's finished. I'm pretty impatient, so whoever's doing what here, get it done quickly so I can go see Eariel's site! Just kidding. I know these things take time, especially when you're just learning how to work the stuff.
So..... Frodo related topics anyone? We seem to have strayed rather far off the 'Frodo as a child' topic. Quite frankly, my puzzler will not suffer to puzzle at this moment. I'll have to force it. *thinks hard* How about........
Frodo's relationship with characters, here's the catch, that are not Sam. Obvious ones are Bilbo, Gandalf, and Aragorn, at least, those ones would be more interesting, but it can be done with any of the characters really. We could do a couple of them. That would keep us going for awhile.
Ok. I admit it. It's a stupid idea. But it's all I could think of.

*must go to avi thread...* lol Welcome to the new page, TT. Thanks, btw. Forever, there was another design that came to me for the banner after i posted, but i don't want to make you have to start over or anything if you've started, so...hmm, i'll tell you the other design i thought of, and then you can help me decide which would be best, if you don't mind. My site is called "Woven of Dreams,' so i was thinking the header could be of that scene in EE FOTR with the Wood Elves passing westwards... (maybe with Frodo and Sam on the left and a pic of the Elves on the right...) So anyway, i'll wait and hear what you have to say.
That is a good idea for conversation, TT. The catch makes it a bit harder, true (which catches are supposed to, i suppose lol), but also more thought-provoking. I like how both Bilbo and Gandalf are kind of like father figures to Frodo, but in slightly different ways...i think...(my puzzler isn't working very quickly--on this topic, at least--either). And then of course Aragorn is like a friend and leader...almost an older brother (now there's an interesting thought--it just came to me ). Also, as i believe Elijah said on the cast commentary of EE ROTK, Galadriel is like Frodo's guardian angel. I like that idea. I also see a similarity between him and Arwen in some ways, and i like how she not only saved him from the Nazgul (in the movie, at least--i know someone else did it in the book--Glorfindel, i think), but also gave her place on the ship to him, as well as giving him that Elvish gem to help with memories of the Darkness. Maybe she felt an affinity with him? I like that idea, too.
Hopefully it won't be to long before the site is up, TT...Believe me, i know it can be hard to wait.

Thank you everybody so much for the compliments for my graphics. I feel deeply honoured Although I personally am not satisfied with a lot of my stuff... I've still so much to learn.
Itarilde: There's still an Arwen avvie left. You can also take whatever icon you want from my graphics site (link in my siggy). I'd also make you a seperate one if you want me to. Just tell me!
Eariel: I haven't started yet, I thought I'd wait until you're sure about the header. Seems that it was a good idea to wait. I think your second idea is fabulous! First, the 'Elves Passing' scene is one of my favourites. And second, because I feel like the 'Frodo smiling at the Havens' picture is a bit overused, if you get me. Well, I know that everybody loves that scene, but still...I've seen it a bit too much lately on banners and avatars around here. The Elves scene fits perfectly with your site name (nice one, btw.). So tell me what you think and I'll start over!
I always liked Frodo's relationship with Bilbo. He's just like a father to him since his own parents have died (poor Frodo!! ). It's so sweet how he loves him.
Eariel, your thoughts about Arwen and Frodo were interesting. Perhaps she feel indeed an affinity with him, because both of them have to give up something they love very much.

Thanks for the offer Forever. But I can't find the link. Do you think you post it for me? Sorry.
Eariel, interesting thoughts between Arwen and Frodo. I'd never thought about it that way before. That's an amazing way to look at the similaries between them. And I think you're right Forever, about how they both had to give up something they loved. There is a very subtle relationship Arwen and Frodo share. I believe they were both intertwined with destiny, and when they realized this, they not only were accepting of this, but appreciative of the way their lives were about to change.
Does that make sense?

I think so...thanks btw...glad to be interesting. (I posted a poem a while back...somewhere...that pointed out their similarities, if you want to go hunting--or i could post it again. It's called Of Frodo and Arwen, appropriately. ) Btw, I think that the link to Forever's site is there in her siggy (just click on "Starspray").
Thanks, Forever--oddly, the name "Woven of Dreams" could be a reference to one of the characters in my own world, a Faiyare (they're a race of mine similar to Valar) named Tailawithre--"Dreamweaver". I like how it's that way, since she's my favorite of the Faiyari.
Anyway, you're right--the Havens smile (while wonderful and perfect and...(I could go on, but you get the idea ) is used a bit much, so...why don't we work on finding pictures at present from the Elves passing scene. ("We" might mean "you" in this case, at least for a while, since I'm not sure how much time I'll have currently. If you don't mind, that is.)
See you later.

That was beautiful, Forever! I think it may have been meant as, well, not just friendship-- you know--but, as has been mentioned before, it really doesn't have to be taken that way. We know it wasn't like that, and we can enjoy the video even so. You're right--it is a nice song. I like it. The part that goes "I'll be right beside you dear' reminds me of TTT (the book) during Sam's "wake-up" bit when he says "O wake up Frodo, me dear, me dear." (Or something like that. ) I love that line...I was kind of sad when it didn't make it into the movie. I suppose it could be taken the wrong way...but still...anyway, thanks for posting that.

I know what you mean - and in fact, the member who uploaded it wrote something like "slash vid" - but I don't care in that particular case. The vid was just so beautiful!
Of course, if people want to understand Frodo's and Sam's friendship that way - which is wrong!!! - you can't help them. It's the same thing with the books. But in my opinion it shows what these ppl are like, if they can't understand a true friendship and try to make up whatever disgusting things, if you know what I mean.
Nevertheless, as I said before, sometimes the result is just a beatiful tribute to FroSam's friendship.
Sorry, but I can get angry about that topic.
Btw where is TT? Haven't seen her for a long time. Aww, miss her!

I always get annoyed when ppl try to do that to Frodo and Sam. I think it's just human instinct to want to label everything. And it's the same with Frodo and Sam's relationship, they want to label it as something. They just can't see it as a very dear relationship between friends. It always has to be something else.

I'm glad to see you agree, and you're right--it does end up being just a tribute to Frodo and Sam's friendship. At any rate, it can be kind of a rant-prone topic, if you know what i mean , so let's see...what else could we talk about? Well, one thing i liked in the song was the part that goes something like "Light up, light up! As if you had any choice", as though the person being addressed can't help but shine, at least from the speaker's point of view. To me, that fits in Frodo and Sam's friendship--i think to each the other would seem a "light". And of course, to those of us who love Frodo, i think we can especially agree with that as regards him... One metaphor for him that i like is "sweet shining light," which is kind of similar i guess... It seems I'm always using Sun, the stars, or just light in general as a metaphor for Frodo, but i think that fits, if you know what i mean.
I miss TT too. Maybe she has a lot to do with school and all.

A light? I like that description. I've always thought of their friendship like an everlasting gobstopper. (I know, it's a little sillier than yours but oh well. ) Or their love for each other simply like a circle, it has no end. How about this? "Their friendship is like a circle of light!" Sorry, I'm sort of hyper today. I don't know why but I am!
yeah, where is TT! Curse you oh evil homework! (<told you I was hyper )

Lol, I can get hyper too...anyway, i like your descriptions, too. The circle one is nice, and a "circle of light' just might work as well. It's kind of nice how it combines both of our metaphors... I also like the "everlasting gobstopper" one--it makes me laugh, but in a good way. (Btw, I was just wondering--who's your favorite character in LotR? Because i know that some people like several characters enough to post in their respective clubs, but that doesn't necessarily mean that any given one is their absolute favorite. Just curious. )
*sighs over having homework* Hopefully it won't keep TT away much longer (if that's what it is...).

I didn't mean to take your ideas. I just thought they sounded cool together and your description did inspire me.
Hm...my absoultely fav. character?? That's really, really hard. Although I absolutely adore my precious Frodo, my fav. character would be Arwen. She's just beautiful and graceful and has a very reagal presence about her. But it's very close.
