Yes, he's Tumnas.
I have to agree with you Ms. Gamgee. The costumes in the 05 version were....agh! I looked like they were in shifts or something!

Hey! This club isn't dead! Yay! *huggles club* I missed it.
I haven't heard anything about any other adaptations of Jane Austen books lately, nor have I heard very much about this film abotu her life that's supposed to be coming out. Does anyone have any idea when it;s coming out? It's something I'd definitely want to go see. And, as an aside, I adore James McAvoy as Mr. Tumnus.

Becoming Jane's out in the UK already. It'll be out in the US in August.
There are three new adaptations being made by the British TV station ITV: Northanger Abbey, Mansfield Park, and Persuasion. They'll be airing March 18, March 25, and April 1 in the UK and in the US on PBS in November. For more information you could try going to Pemberley.com or austenblog.com.

Yes, she is.
Is anyone in the UK planning to watch Mansfield Park on Sunday?

Can I join?
I liked the one with Keira Knightely, the Focus Features Version. I liked the A & E one too, though.

I'd completely forgotten about this club... I believe I joined before I left and came back again
So, if you don't mind, Arwen, could you change Arinda to Silme Din?

Ohhhh oh, you're talking about the new Jane Austen film! I'd so much like to see it. My English teacher saw it and said it was very good. She also said that we HAD to have a Jane Austen reading next year - yay!
But - Is Anne Hathaway good? Can she speak real British? And can James McAvoy speak Irish? He is in fact Scottish, isn't he?

Hey everyone and welcome to the club Miluiel. I'm sure it's fine if you join, although lately we've been pretty inactive, and Arwen is [I'm sure] very busy and doesn't really have time to update the members list.
I know almot nothign about the movie besides what I've read here, but I'm pretty excited to see it. I really should have done more research on Jane Austen's life. I love her books, but I never really bothered to find our much aqbout her as a person. Hopefully the movie helps me along with that. Anyone know when it's going to be released in the US?

^ It hasn't, has it? Don't trust me. I have no idea. I just sort of assumed that it wasn't out yet. I could be terribly wrong. Which is why I'm asking.

Sure, Silme Din? Because I think it's gonna be out in Denmark in a week or two. I think my English teacher said that. She saw it this week on our school trip to Dublin. But I don't know, she could have been wrong---
