Lol---that's true. But that was his beginning type movie. Sixth Sense is what REALLY did it.

Which I am watching now... I only have half and hour left, and I really wanted to watch it all in one go... but other people need the telly... gah... it's really sucked me into the story... I know the twist and I'm trying to see if there any clues... but I just end up forgetting about that, and I'm just riveted by it... I think technically it is his best film but Signs is still my favourite. :D

I was looking up prices on amazon and I found The Village being sold for only $11.00 and I thought that was very insulting, that it's so unpopular that it'll sell for that low, however, very good deal for me. :D

Lol, I get like that with films I like all the time "how dare you selll it so cheap!!", but you tend to find even the most popular films of the moment very cheap because of the competition from so many sites.

Fret not Kit. *pat pat*

I saw The Village today in a movie rental store being sold as a "previously viewed DVD." *shakes head* lol

^.... Erm----well they do sell all sorts of DVDs after being viewed---so it's okay. It is a movie-rental store, afterall.

I'm actually considering mooching off those people who bought the film and didn't like it so they're reselling them after watching it like... once for $1.00. That's on amazon. :D Their loss is my gaaaain.

Yay! You seriously need to watch Signs soon, I'm bouncing off the walls here waiting to have a good in depth convo about it.

You'd better like it! That's all I can say! :teehee:

Man, I just saw the Sixth Sense... I'm in turmoil now... it is an awesome film... I think it is technically his best, the story is fantastic and the acting and everything is just brilliant. I even got weepy in certain moments... *sniff*... I still think Signs is my favourite, mainly because it is not as unsettling as the Sixth Sense and I am probably more entertained (in a light hearted way).

My list of my favourite M. Night films has been shot to pieces. XD

Lol ---wow you really really really love Signs huh? I'm so excited to go see it, I'll be going to the library today before work so hopefully they have it [crosses her fingers]. It would not be courteous of me to make JF wait any longer!!

Oh, geez. Sixth Sense is extraordinarily depressing isn't it? It's the one film that he's made with no kind of comic relief and it's the comic relief that amplifies it---it's not well to get TOO emotional about the plotline or we would just become a weeping mess. I like humor too, JF, which is why Lady in the Water's my favorite, but I might end up liking Signs better if it has better comic relief. :D

Oh, they better have it... or I'll... I'll do something drastic like.. like.. something big and... drastic... yeah, that's what's I'll do! XD

Yes, that is very true about the Sixth Sense, there really isn't any comic relief in it. There are a few lighter moments, but not a great deal. There were only a few parts that got me sniffly, near the end. Like when Cole is talking to his mum in the car about what grandma said, that he couldn't have known about... and it was weepy in a good way you know? Because he's like these scared little kid, and you know he's going to be OK now, because he mum knows and believes him. And then of course there was the end that was sad... but then it was happy sad tears.

Oooh, yes. Well I think you should be very happy with the lighter moments in Signs. :D

Oh I was practically bawling in the scene with Cole and his mother in the car. That movie had such an amazing cast, no wonder why it won so many foreign awards (OUTRAGED that it didn't win ANY Oscars).

Oh, I know. My mum had to resort to a pack of tissues for that scene. Toni Collette is a wonderful actress, she looked sp upset, it's amazing it was all an act. And that got me upset, and the fact that she knew what was wrong with Cole, and that things would get better for them.

Gah, the Oscars. They're always doing things like that.

That scene is so powerful! Toni Collette's performance in that scene really made me want to cry.

^But did you cry? =D There's no shame in crying!!

JF: Yes. The Oscars ARE always doing that---and it's really unfair.

I get teary all the time now, after watching LOTR... it's weird.. people always said I was so cold hearted and everything when it comes to watching films, nothing ever upset me... and then after LOTR, and the times I cried watching that... it's like it's broken down a wall or something... heck, I even get upset watching a Tom and Jerry cartoon.... and the same thing happened to my brother as well. Weird. o.0 *shakes fist at PJ for turning her into a blubbering mess*

Yes, aren't they just? Too afraid to accept something different and original... they always give Oscars to the safe bets or old friends.
