Hey... can I join?
Favorite soundtrack: Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World (ok, so there might be a slight Yo-Yo Ma obsession involved...)
Favorite composer: Hans Zimmer.

Let's see. The first soundtrack that I ever noticed was from Star Wars: The Phantom Menace in 1998, which was also the first time I ever watched a movie in a cinema. Ever since then I've concentrated on the music as much as the footage in movies. Gladiator was the first one that I listened to repeatedly on CD, as I heard the soundtrack two and a half years before I saw the movie, and fell in love with it instantly. It's still my favourite, actually. <_<

I can't remember when I first noticed soundtracks... just that suddenly there was a day when I was crazy about a ton of them and that was all I listened to and from that day on I've wanted to compose a soundtrack. Even now I've started playing around with different composition things in general, but haven't gotten past deciding what instruments will play the bad guy's theme. >.<
And I forgot to list another favorite soundtrack - The Mission.

Ooo!! I would like to join
I can't even pick my favorite soundtrack. I guess it would have to be Kingdom of Heaven. I love Harry Gregson Williams

You guys are all welcome to join. ^_^
Oh, Kingdom of Heaven has a great soundtrack. When I watched the movie for the first time, I was paying more attention to the music than to the action.

LadyofRohan, that's my favorite! And though I haven't seen the whole movie, I saw one scene when my dad was testing blue-ray against normal dvds, and I noticed the music immediately. I love it! I'm actually listening to is now.

Yeah, it was a good movie with a better soundtrack. Sort of like At World's End in that sense, but better.

As much as I like Hans Zimmer, I do find some of his works samey. John Willaims tends to use the same love theme for the likes of Indiana Jones and Star Wars, but I have counted 5 different films that use the main POTC theme, before POTC even came out, as one of the main action themes. It's always disappointing to me when composers use a theme over and over again but change the notes around a little bit so they're not 100% the same.

Welcome, Ellie! It's good to have you with us. ^_^
Jayef, I find Hans Zimmer's "sameness" to be enjoyable, actually. It lets me have fun categorising themes from movies, and pick apart the soundtracks better.
You guys sang Burning the Past!?!? That's so awesome...
