Lol...that he does...

Well, i'm glad to know you like my newest banner, and yours is good too, FM.

I wish i could do the blending thing... (lol i like what you said about making you want to cry 'in that special way only Frodo can,' TT. I take that as a major complinment.

)
I'm not sure, h_f... (Glad you've become inspired, tho!) It does seem to be free... You might want to check with your folks about it tho... (I'll be looking forward to seeing the work of another fellow banner maker.

)
Man, I was watching the cast commentary version of rotk EE earlier (again

), and it was really neat hearing what Elijah and Sean said about filming that scene on the side of Mount Doom (where Frodo's lying in Sam's arms), which as i've mentioned is my favorite scene ever. Actually, I watched the normal version (well, a part of the film that included that scene--not the whole movie

), then i watched a portion of the director/writers commentary (up to the conclusion of that scene, i believe), and then i watched some of the cast commentary. So i'm in rather an 'intense mood,' to borrow a phrase Sean Astin used, which tends to happen when I think a lot about a scene like that. To me, the best part (or one of them) of the book or the movie is where Frodo and Sam are in Mordor, and their close friendship and love for one another becomes very visible, like a star shining clearer in the darkness of midnight. *sigh* I rediscovered why (or at least part of why) I love that scene so much... The whole feel of it is so...beautiful. Such a tender, intimate moment amidst so much darkness and peril... *tear*
Anyway, on that note, I've decided to post another poem that i wrote recently that takes place during that scene. It's from Frodo's point of view, and (to me) it approaches it a little differently from what i normally do... But you can see what you think for yourself.
Warming in your gentle glow,
My head against your heart is laid:
It's steadfast song is all I know--
Love's tender melody...
When Deathwinds blow, don't let me go--
Wash me with sweet tears that flow,
Melting over my wounds softly--
Grey as rainfall, light as snow...
I cast myself on your heart's mercy--
Don't cry--do with me what you will:
I beg you only do not leave me--
I know you won't, and I love you still:
All I bear, all I am rests with you.
Staunch the wounds that bleed so long--
I bare my soul to your heart's love:
Protect my spirit's dying song--
I've lost the melody...
My hope is gone--I can't go on--
Soon Death would claim me, cold and wan:
Yet tears of gentleness still mourn me--
A requiem for Dawn...
I cast myself on your heart's mercy--
Don't cry--do with me what you will:
I beg you only do not leave me--
I know you won't, and I love you still:
All I bear, all I am rests with you.
You hold me close and weep,
Knowing of my weariness, perceiving all my agony:
My forgotten soul you keep,
Pouring love into the emptiness--I know you long to ransom me...
From the Dark--
Yet you can't save me from this doom:
But I will rest,
Borne by you unto my Burden's tomb:
I know that you won't lose me--
Your hope is all that matters now...
I cast myself on your heart's mercy--
Don't cry--do with me what you will:
I beg you only do not leave me--
I know you won't, and I love you still:
All I bear, all I am rests with you.
