I think I'm mildly obsessed with RPs. Of course, it depends on the ones I'm in at the moment, and how excited I am about them. I've often caught myself thinking about new characters for a new RP, or what may happen next in a different one. lol

I can be pretty obsessive, but I'm not normally obsessive about more than one RP at a time.....so while I post like crazy in one, I sort of drop another. It's not that great a thing for RPing.

and now for the crazy question of the week: How obsessive are you with rpgs? I know that when I become obsessed with an rpg, it haunts me day and night.

I'm not completely obsessed with them, but I do think about them quite a bit. The main reason I'm always thinking about them is that a fair amount of the time, Pip and I will join an RPG (mainly PotC ones), and then it essentially gets dumped in our laps to figure out while the starter goes off somewhere and never comes back. So I'm almost always trying to think up new plot points and ideas to discuss with her whenever she gets on AIM that afternoon. In fact, I can't recall the last time that one of our conversations didn't mention an RPG, even if it was just telling each other to go post. :teehee:
RPGs are also part of my morning routine: Wake up, check the computer real fast to read any new posts in the RPGs, go shower, then eat breakfast at the computer while posting in as many as can be managed.
Yay!

Hmmm... yeah, I get pretty obsessed sometimes... I find that when I am 'in to' or obsessed with an RPG, I write posts alot better. I havn't been completely and entirely OBSESSED with an RPG in some time, but there were a name few times... All of which would be on my mind day and night...

Lol, the more obsessed I am about an RPG, the better and longer the posts are that I make.

Unfortunately, I'm never obsessed about an RPG for long.

I know whenever a teacher starts lecturing, a third of the time my mind drifts off to an rpg. First thing I thought when I woke up this morning was "Yes! Fantasy rpg!" (on another forum)

Meldawen, I'd say it's a compliment to your rping skills that I simply cannot tell you how many times I've sat at my computer, clicking the A-U shortcut, checking the rpg section, then exiting out in a fury with the thought Meldawen, get on already!

... in fact, I'm doing so right now.

You know, that's weird, because every time I get on the very first spot I check is Sharky's End and the very first thing I do is anxiously scroll down, watching the 'Last post' column and hoping it'll say [s]Lady Dark Moon[/s] er, Jimmy. In fact, I check it so often that all I have to do is type 'a' in my address bar and it immediately blinks to 'arwen-undomiel.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=18'.

So you're not alone - and thank you for the compliment! I try :)

But as for being obsessed with an RPG...usually when I'm really into one, my posts take longer to type and are more carefully thought out than other posts, and usually longer. Also, I can tell I'm obsessed when, in that space at about 11 at night when I've just turned out the light but I'm not asleep yet, I find myself going "But what if we did this? And then this would happen, but what if that didn't work? And she wouldn't do that...I wonder if there'll be any new posts when I wake up?"

At the dentist the other day, I was lying there whie they poked metal things in my mouth, pondering RPGs. They must have thought I was so antisocial, I didn't hear half the things they said!

Lol, that's hilarious, Meldawen. I do that all the time. I think best when I'm supposed to be falling asleep, so I lie down and a minute later I start thinking of interesting things to put in an RPG, or how to respond to some situation in it, etc. My mental pathways revolve around RPGs. It's really weird, though I'm almost never bored in the conventional sense, thanks to that.

My big thing is I tend to imagine crazy situations and what this character might do here and how this one might react, and they usually melt off into oblivion at some point and I start up on a new one. I've stayed up till midnight doing this :)

Lol, same here. Or I spend my time thinking up new worlds, complete with countries, cultures, and armor and weapons styles (I've been working on one for the last few months, but since I haven't gotten around to jotting down many notes, it's not going so well, lol).

I've done that - come up with the greatest thing at one in the morning and completely forgotten it the next day  Oops!

Have you ever met an RPG character in your dream? One you've already invented? Let me tell you... it is SO eerie! He looked like exactlyas I had imagined him... except he was really living, and not a character but a real person. It was one of those realistic dreams where you can feel, taste, touch. *shiver* Hope that never happens to me again.

No, never. It's pity, it is, I would like to. It would be intriguing. I seem to be using that word a lot lately.

Man! Do you guys plan this?! Getting on and posting like there's no tomarrow while I'm gone? Then stop posting like dead chickens hung above the chopping block when I'm here?!?!! lol, jk. :P

And about meeting RPG charries... no. But I have had several occations when Legolas goes to camp with me... Scary. I think you all would be very scared too if you have seen Legolas in a yellow camp T-shirt with loose-fitting jeans, and short cut spikey-type hair. :hide:
