Oooh! Goodie! Thanks Forever. I'll run over there and check that out after I post this.
I don't think the idea of Frodo having a romance is so unheard of. He may have had one once after all. And with one with Sam's sister seems to work out rather well. It's a sweet idea. Although I know we all want Frodo for ourselves.
By the way, feel free to call me TT if you want. I don't mind.
*cough* He's my favorite too. *cough*
Now off to see the Frodo graphics!

Thanks, i'm glad to know you don't think the idea of a Frodo romance is unheard of. I also like it being with Sam's sister, if anyone.
Good, now i know i can call you TT w/ out commiting a major offense, lol. (Not that it ever would been that, but it's nice to hear you say it's all right. )
*cough*I'm glad he's your favorite too. If you want, we can switch over to pm to further discuss this, before we're caught by a mod, and i'll be glad to show you some of my avatar-related poems, if you'd like to see them. By pm, of course. *cough*
Yesterday, my sisters and i went over to our church office to do our yearbook pages. (We homeschool, but a kind of as a group under our church.) There's this program that let's you have different layouts of pages where you can put your pictures and captions. It's not as personal and unique as in the past, where we each do it from scratch, but it's easier on the person in charge this way. So anyway, my point is that too of my pictures involved Frodo--one was of me at ORC w/ a cardboard standup cutout of the four hobbits, and one was a drawing of him i'd done (anime style--with purple-ish hair! ). On the first one i had a line from the song Even in Death by Evanescence ("Some say I'm crazy for my love, oh my love..."), and in the caption of the next one, i put the next line ("...But no bonds can hold me from your side, oh my love"). You see, i kind of think of Even in Death as 'our song'--mine and Frodo's, lol--b/c even tho in the song, the person speaking is talking about how the one they love isn't really gone even tho they've died, it fits my/our situation to me, because most people think Frodo's just a character in a book, but I know--we know--he's real, in a way. Anyway, just wanted to share that.

Yeah, it could be that I'm so sceptical about a romance for Frodo because I want to be his girl But I don't think so, it just...well, it doesn't feel right in some way. For me, there are two Frodo-sides: The book-one, with everything that "really" happened to him within this story that I loved like none other, and the fangirl-part, like talking on forums, reading fanfic, and being a fan of Elijah Wood. And Frodo being in love feels like mixing the two parts up. (I guess I didn't express what I really meant by that. It's somehow not explain-able )
Sweet story, Eariel. I know there's that strange connection between LotR and Evanescence.

Thanks. lol, i know, it's great--my favorite band and my favorite story.
I think i may kind of see what you mean... To me, Frodo is Frodo, book or movie (or was that what you meant by the "book Frodo"?) and i absolutely love him, and then there's the Elijah part, like you said, with fangirlyness and all that good stuff, lol. I've encountered fanfics that have Frodo acting in a way that just doesn't seem like him, so i kind of know what you mean there. I try to make him seem like himself, even in my fanfics that are slightly 'un-cannon' (like the Daisy one). So, hopefully you won't absolutely hate it... Anyway, lately i've been tending to try out new ideas, even tif i still love the old ideas i had, in writing and music and stuff, so...that may be partly why i'm even writing that fanfic. Also i thought it would be cool to weave in the Beren/Luthien poem, and of course like i said, i can give Daisy my own thoughts and feelings regarding Frodo. I know, i want to be his girl, too, but in a fanfic that takes place entirely in Middle-earth, i can't really do that...so it's nice to have an alternative, lol. And in my poems, a lot of times it's just me and Frodo, so that's one place i can do that. lol
Speaking of whom, i recently listened to an older song of Evanescence, called Field of Innocence (i'd heard it before, but it had been a while). I thought it would be a great song to make a Frovid to, or one about the Hobbits in general, so i searched on youtube, and this is what i found. The first one is from Frodo's point of view, and the quality could be better, but they way the clips are set to the music is neat. The second one focuses on all four hobbits, contrasting they way they were before and after the Quest. Actually, it was submitted by someone called AltarielFrodo, who i believe is a member of this forum... So that's cool. I guess you're not the only AU-er who has a vid on youtube, Forever. (Also, it was submitted on Jan. 28, interestingly enough. Cool way to celebrate Lij's b-day! )

Yes, I think that's quite what I wanted to say Well, the book Frodo and the movie Frodo are the same in a way, and in another they are not. I has something to do with my imagination of Frodo when I read the book (I read it before I watched the movie) and he was a bit different there than in the movie. Then I saw the movie and thought Lij's portrayal of Frodo was perfect, so the two pictures kinda overlayed.. (ok, I'll shut up, I'm talking absolute nonsense today )
I don't think I'll hate your fanfic. I just have that feeling... I didn't read anything from you that I didn't like so far, that's why.
YouTube seems to be down at the moment, so I can't watch the vids now, but I know the one by Alatariel (yes, I know she's also on YouTube - she's my friends there ) and I loved it.

Cool. We'll have to tell her sometime. (Speaking of fanwork, glad you have that feeling about that fic of mine. Hope your premonition comes true, and thank you--glad you've liked my stuff so far. )
I read FotR before i saw it (because my dad insisted ), and at that time i wasn't particularly in love with Frodo, but when i did fall in love with him while reading TTT, i believe i remember thinking 'Well, it's certainly nice to have that mental picture of him from the movie, as i didn't have a very good one before then...' Lol. That was one long run-on sentence. Kind of. But yeah, i think i may know what you mean by the book Frodo and movie Frodo being the same yet a bit different.
Speaking of whom, do you remember when i told you guys about doing my yearbook page, one of the pictures for which was a drawing i'd done (anime style, lol) of Frodo? Well, i'll post it for you... Here's the link.

Also, here's a video involving Frodo (as well as other characters) set to All That I'm Living For that i found on youtube, just b/c i felt like posting and Ev-/Frovid.

Hey, everyone. sorry for abandoning you guys. Of course you all have each other as friends, so I'm sure you couldn't have missed me too much.
Anyway, sticking to the subject you guys were on. I can remember that I saw FOTR before I read it, but I did proceed to read the rest of the series before I saw the movies. so for me, I read the book with the mental image of Frodo the way he looked in the movie. I didn't have the opportunity to create my own image of him when reading the books because when every I read a chapter with him in it, I automatically saw the Elijah-version of Frodo.
It does make sense what you guys were saying though. He is both the same and different in both the book and the movie.
By the way, I thought your drawing of Frodo was good Eariel. And I really loved the music to the youtude clip. Thanks for sharing Eariel.

You're welcome, and thank you. But i wouldn't say we don't miss you! While i am currently a bit closer to TT and Forever, i'm glad to be getting to know you as well. So don't worry.
Well, everyone has their own story of 'lotr-conversion', lol. You have to admit the movie version of Frodo is a pretty nice one (try Elvenly beautiful ), so it's not like you missed out too much on having a separate mental image of him. lol...
Do we need a new topic?
Edit: I don't have much time, but i wanted to show you a new banner i did today. I've been wanting to branch out more, and this is the result (the first of many, i hope ). The words are from Before the Dawn by Evanescence.

I don't have much time, I'll read the new posts tomorrow. Just let you know that I'm alive!
Eariel, I like the faint, dreamy look of your banner. You're improving very quickly
In case you're interested, my first html layout of my site is up. click the link in my siggy!
Talk to you soon.

Your new layout is neat. I like the kind of faded, 'old' look, and the way you blend everything together. Are the pictures from anything in particular?
Thank you, I'm glad you like my banner! I've been trying to improve, so it's nice to hear you say i'm attaining my goal. Speaking of banners, i had no less than four banner ideas recently (that first one being one of them), so here's another. Hope you like it.

Eesh. Sorry everyone! I've been so crazily busy lately that I've had not time whatsoever to reply here. School is insane, and replying here takes a bit more time than replying elsewhere [not that that's a bad thing ]. Forgive me for being on less frequently until school is over.
Thanks very much for posting the video Eariel. They were great. As always. they make me really want to watch LOTR again. Something that will have to wait until school is finished too I'm afraid. *sigh*
Aw Itarilde. Of course we miss you! Please don't feel left out.
I was kind of the same as you. I saw the films before reading the books, so I sort of went in with preset versions of the characters in my mind. I was, however, able to tweak some of the characters a bit to match Tolkien's descriptions in thew book so that they became kind of a blend of the movie versions and the book versions in my head. But Frodo was one of the ones I didn't change. I thought that Elijah fitted the part so perfectly that there was no changing it in my head. So the book Frodo and the movie Frodo are very much the same for me as well.
Nice drawing Eariel. I like the anime-ish style of it. It's very unique. Your banners are lovely as well. I like the second one especially.
Forever! *hugs* Nice to see you! Your site looks beautiful. I hadn't visited it in awhile, but you've done a great job with it. The header is gorgeous, and such a good theme too [music]. I had a look around while I was there as well.
You are indeed in the right place if you love Frodo smeagollum. This is the place where all the Frodo lovers can congregate and be completely weirdly obsessive about Frodo without getting weird looks from the non-believers for once. It's pretty cool. *joins in the Frodo group hug*

*hugs back* Thanks TT!
And thanks Eariel, too. I'm glad you like the layout. I spent quite a long time on it, so it's good to hear that it wasn't all wasted
Eariel, the pics are basically ones of two of my favourite musicians along with other music-themed ones. And in case you have hoped for a Frodo-related layout, don't be disappointed: It will be there in one of the next versions. But I'll keep this one a while until I don't like it anymore.
Mmh - I liked the new banner, but as for the text-I don't think it fits all that well. I get the idea about the "resonating light" and Galadriel, but why "you used to"? Is this suggesting that she doesn't captivate Frodo any more? Anyway, perhaps I'm just too stupid to get it, so I'd be glad if you explained

Orcs are not allowed to be within a 50 foot perimeter of Frodo.. I simply won't allow it.
