Hey, Rose! :bye2: I'm happy to see you here.... also this club has sorta died without you. :erm: anyway, I hope you'll be able to get on more now! :)

you're welcome! :P I imagine not! lol ooo, yes, yes! You're own claim would be a wonderful idea!

thanks! :-D yup, that's how I see it.... Aragorn and Arwen were MADE for each other... they couldn't have been happy any other way. Me wuve true love!

as to the next question... hmmm, I think Aragorn would've stayed in Minas Tirith... I mean that was kinda what he was destined for, wasn't it? To be the king of Minas Tirith (and basically Middle-earth) and to rule in peace and justice... if he had left he would've been giving up his duty. And I'm sure Arwen would've understood and stayed with him no matter what.

did that make sense? it doesn't seem like it did....

Thanks! I'm glad to see you all again as well. :) I really missed A-U so much during all that time. It feels a bit like coming home again now. :teehee:

Well, maybe I could think about a claim. :) But I haven't done any graphics for almost a month now, and I'm not sure if I'll be able to until the Christmas holidays start. But I could think about it for my semester holidays around February, so let's see. ;)

I agree with you that Aragorn would have to stay in Minas Tirith as well. He just couldn't reject that duty anymore. I also agree that Arwen would have tried to find a way to stay in Middle-Earth. I think if she couldn't have stayed at all and the two would have been seperated, Aragorn would have ruled for a very long time first of all and when he had finally found a successor, he might have spend at least his last days in Valinor together with Arwen.

Hi Rose! Great to see you again! sorry we let this thread kinda die while you were gone  Good question too. Unfortunately PD already did such a great job answering that I have nothing more to contribute. :P Except, perhaps, that another option for him would be to appoint Faramir as the king in his stead. Though I don't think that technically would've worked very well since Aragorn was THE king, but still...

It's a pleasure to see you again as well. :) Don't worry, all clubs occasionally die for a few days sometimes.
Yep, appointing Faramir would have been an option indeed, so maybe he could have reigned on his own for some years and then give the job to Faramir in order to spend his last years together with Arwen.

you're welcome! well, we all missed you too! and I know what you mean! :P Just after an absence of a few days coming back here feels like going home.... or when I was on my short vacation there a little while ago. Every night when I came on AU it felt like I was home. :teehee:

Thanks for the warm welcome again.
Yep, you've described the feeling of coming home totally right. That's exactly how it is. :)
OMG, it's so depressing right now that I have so few time left for the internet. I feel really bad neglecting AU, my website, and all those things. But uni still takes away most of my time. :( Anyways, I've managed it to come here again today after what feels like an eternity. ;)

I really feel like making graphics right now, but sadly I don't have time. I've made my last stuff somehow around the beginning of October or so, which is a really long time. :( So, I can't wait for the Christmas holidays. :)

Yep, I'm really glad that the separation of Arwen and Aragorn (no matter if for a certain period of time or forever) didn't have to happen. That would have been just too sad for the two.

At least I could bring you a new discussion topic again:
How do you imagine Arwen and Aragorn as parents? Would you like to have them as your parents?

Ooh, good topic, Rose! I see Arwen as sort of the quintessential mother: loving, gentle, patient, but firm when she needs to be. And she'd have fun with her kids too, and teach them the ways of the Elves as well as the ways of Men. Aragorn would be an amazing father, someone his kids could really look up to. He'd take them out on adventures (especially Eldarion :D) and teach them to ride horses and use a sword. Of course he'd be an excellent storyteller and know all the best ones - they'd beg him for a tale every night before bed. Aragorn and Arwen would teach their children to be just, wise, brave, and gentle all at once. I for one would LOVE to have them as my parents (not that my own aren't amazing, but you know what I mean ;)).

That's exactly how I would see the two as well. :) I think individually each of them would already be a great parent, but together they would be really perfect, as their attitudes and characteristics fit together that well. I think they would both be some kind of ideal parents, so I can only agree with you that having them as your own parents would be perfect. ;)

Well...that's a great answer for a great question...I would love to just agree (once again) but I'll try to say something myself too.

I don't know why but I've always thought that Arwen is kind of a motherly person. She's such a loving and good person that there's no way that her kids would be any other kind. And Aragorn...he'd be firm but gentle father...just the way he is as a king.
It would be amazing to have Arwen and Aragorn as my parents because they're so...perfect. But then again I wouldn't trade my parents for anyone else.

I know! we've been terrible at keeping this club alive!

aww, well thank you! I'm glad I could put it so well... I just said it how it felt.
I'm so sorry to hear that, Rose! But I'm sure things will lighten up soon and you'll get more internet time then. we've missed you as well... but at least you haven't totally dumped AU or anything... you still come here whenever you get the chance and that's very good! :) anyway, I welcome you back!

Just hang in there! Sooner or later you'll get the chance! :-D and I can't wait 'til then! ;)

Oh, I know! That almost would've single-handedly ruined LotR for me! if Arwen left and never saw Aragorn again! :swoon: I can't even think about how terrible that would've been!

And as for the question... well, that's an excellent one and finally I get to "cheat" off Anie for the answer ;) Anie and RDM said it almost exactly how I would've! so.... what they said. :P

Oh yeah! I can't imagine Arwen ever being harsh or cruel to her kids. And she'd probably be pretty fair when they got in trouble too. ;) With Aragorn all the girls probably had to do was give him puppy-dog eyes and say "I'm sorry, Daddy!" :P

As good parents, I think Aragorn and Arwen were great.

I've got a quick question.... maybe it's been asked here before, but I've never gotten the whole Evenstar fades with Arwen while the Evil grows. There was nothing about that in the book, was there? Or did I miss something in the book? :erm: It's just I can't recall Tolkien ever writing about her slowly dieing with the Evenstar while Sauron grew more powerful....

I think I can answer this one... there was nothing in the books about it and it was added by PJ to make it more interesting, could be a possible reference that if you opposd Sauron, a shadow grew on your heart.

ok, big thanks you guys! That's how I remembered it and Arwen in the book too (and I always thought it was funny that the Evenstar ended up shattering in the end and Frodo never got it )... I just wasn't totally sure because it's been a while since I've read the books. Either way now I know so I can forget worrying about it and if I'm going insane. :P

btw, welcome, Aerlinn!

It's somewhere in the books...swear.

*comes in*

Hi to all of you dear guys! :bye2: I'm back once again. :) Sorry that I didn't make it here earlier, but uni is really much more stress than I've ever imagined. My days still consist of sleeping a few hours- attending the lectures-learning and the next day it's all the same again. I even had to spend the last few weekends doing all the uni stuff. :(
But I hope that I can be around a bit more during the next few days. :)

@Nienna of Rohan: Welcome to the club! :bye2:

Hmm, interesting discussion. I've also asked myself quite often what all the Evenstar story did really mean. So, thanks for your explanations, Aerlinniel and Ashwise.

Which Evenstar-story version do you actually like better? The book one or the PJ-one?
