To Lady Raine: I think Elrond might have had a vision or Legolas might have send messengers. I mean he must have known about Arwen's and Aragorn's love relationship as he picked up the Evenstar when Aragorn fell down the cliffs in TTT and later handed it back to him...

He would have to because someone has to rule the kingdom after he died.
Aragorn/Ewoyn didn't have to be an option it probably wouldn't work out any way... I'm writing a fan fic similar to this topic, but Arwen is presumed dead (not really), but Aragorn marries someone else, then she dies, then he's supposed to marry this horrible Dol Amrothian Princess, but Arwen comes back...I think it'll be really good.

I don't think Aragorn could have gone on very well without
Arwen. He would have just been so devastated... and that can honestly kill you. However, he would have had to marry because he needs to have a succesor. I don't think Eowyn could have been an option though. I don't know if she ever really truly loved him- she idealized him, and wanted to be queen. She admits some of this in the part where she's talking with Faramir, I believe in the chapter "The Houses of Healing". Plus, where would that leave Faramir?? As an afternote, I don't think Arwen would have done well in Valinor either. They are the perfect example of true love- the kind where you simply cannot live, literally, without the other.

I completely agree with you. I think Aragorn would see it as his duty to marry in order to preserve his kingdom, but I don't think he would ever be able to truly love his wife. That becomes clear if you have a look at his reaction towards Eowyn following the Evenstar scene in TTT and even stronger in their parting scene in ROTK [I don't think the two would fit together].
Besides, I think that Arwen's relationship to her father would be seriously damaged, as she would never be happy in the West and as she had would always be angry with him because he persuaded her to leave Aragorn.
All in all, both Arwen and Aragorn would sooner or later die because of broken hearts. Their love is special and stronger and deeper than everything else...
