^ I'm hoping to start German sometime... Next year I'm doing French and Arabic... and then maybe some time after that... yes, I'm ambitious.
I want to learn to speak Arabic, French, German, and Greek fluently.
I already speak British and American.
And Kiwi.

I'd like to learn some French, but sadly I don't have a perfect handle on English yet, so it would be difficult to learn another language.
But I've been told that English is most difficult to learn, and that if I can pass English through highschool I should be able too learn another language.

English is horrible. It's one awful language to learn because we have words like "lead" which can mean two things, and things like "there, their, and they're" or "too, to, and two"
It's horrid!
Anyway, lets get back on subject. I don't think Kit would like us talking about languages.
So lets go slanguages! What odd things do people say where you live that only they say?
As I said, we say "fixin' to" a lot, and other such Southernisms.

^Haha, I always think it's funny to hear people say stuff like that when I happen to be in a southern state. Also, "y'all." lol
Did you know that "tight" is the new "cool"? I'm starting to use it more and more...

I've been saying "tight" for years. Picked it up when I was in Cali with my cousins.
What's wrong with a few Southernisms? They make life fun!
"Y'all" is actually quite stereotypical. I'm very southern and I hardly ever say it.

^Haha, tight's just reached MO. My high school hasn't even made it traditional yet.
And no, there's nothing wrong with southernisms at all! I'm just not used to them, so it makes me laugh.

Well, I can't say I've never laughed at northern folk. I had fits of laughter over a girl on my cruise who insisted that my life sounded "wicked sick"
It was really hilarious.

I've had to take some French and Spanish in school but I was not the best at it. Around here, French and Spanish are like a must. I don't know why French though, there is not very many French speaking people here except for the French Canadian tourists during the summer. I understand why Spanish is a big deal. There's a ton of Spanish speaking people around here. Then again, Massachusetts is very mixed. You got about half of the cultures of the world bunched in this small state.

Have I offended you? I really didn't mean to, but I fear that I have. I'm sorry, because I don't mean to sound degrading. I'm not suggesting that your types of words or phrases are wrong -- I'm just highlighting differences.

I get defensive about AL, because people often make remarks that mean that us Alabamians are stupid and think that we're too dumb to catch it. We're the butt of many jokes, you see, so we tend to be careful. No worries, though. No worries.

Haha, sweet is something I say a lot too. And tight? Tight came and went from here a long time ago. Sweet is what's in now. Which is funy, because it was before tight, and now it just came back.

I'm from the north and I say ya'll almost every day.
But since we've moved to Dubai, I've picked up a lot of British words... rubbish, etc...
But I still use American stuff - insist on it, too.
One kid asked to borrow my "torch" once, and I said, "I don't have a torch. I have a flashlight, if you want to use it, you have to ask me for the flashlight."
