Hey Guys! I just got the go ahead from Meldawen, and it turns out that we are going to have a "Claim a Dragon"! Myself, and Eruraina, and perhaps some more people, drawing and creating Dragons for everyone to claim. This'll be happening in a few weeks, because it takes a lot of energy to create a good Dragon drawing. So look forward to that in the next few weeks.

^Sweetness! That sounds awesome! *sits down to wait patiently*
I agree w/ Tur, Melda. I think your graphics are great, so if you want to just make a club banner, that would be cool with me. The idea of a contest is cool, too.

Awesome idea Dark! *ish getting ready to claim a dragon*
And I must say I agree with both Tur and Elenya with the both idea.

Okays, maybe what we'll do, then, is I'll make a club poster for our first page, and we'll have a contest for banners. Posters = coolness.
Hey, was just thinking today, has anybody seen dragon artwork by Ciruelo? It's AMAZING. His site's here (the dragon part of it). PotR got me a calendar by him for my birthday, and it's currently on January with the large roaring green dragon you see if you click that linky I love it.

That sounds great Melda!

Okays, hopefully I'll have some time to fiddle around with GIMP soon and come up with something, then, and I can open contest soonish - not sure how busy I'll be with going back to school.

I'm participating too... Darkie already asked me... I've got the first dragon sketched... I just need to color and make a background. The background I'm not sure what I'm going to do yet.
And, is it okay if I use different methods for each dragon? Like... one colored pencil, another water color, another oil pastel, another soft pastel, another crayon?

Anyone whose anyone who wants to drall dragons for the claim I'm pretty sure can join in. That makes less dragons that one person has to draw I think...
And since Melda gave the site to that really good dragon drawing artist... is everyone else going to have really high expectations for our drawings? Mine aren't as good... or detailed... or complicated...
Oh well!
Hey, here's a topic! Do you think dragons should be free and wild, as pets or slaves, or being ridden by dragon riders? Which way do you prefer a dragon to be?
I think I'd rather have them free and wild or be ridden by riders that they choose.

Anyone can draw or create Dragons, PM them to me when your done.
I really prefer Dragons as being wild. Thats really the epitomy of what a Dragon is, freedom. A wild spirit, untameable. And even if they did choose the rider, it's mighty hard to make a Dragon do what they dont want to. Either you come to a compromise about it, you dont do it at all, or you force the Dragon by means that you normally wouldnt do. Dragons are stubborn.

To answer your brilliant question, Rain, I think that for sure, dragons should not be enslaved. How anyone would enslave a dragon (who are both cunning and wise) is beyond me. I think, then, from the other two options, the Dragon should choose. The should choose to be ridden, if they wish, but if not, then they have the right to be free.

Well, one of my favorite dragons has a dragonrider (well, I made them both up, but still) so I almost prefer them that way. I love the connection between dragon and rider, a bit in Eragon or from the Pern books. To me one of the special things about dragons is that they're intelligent enough to work with humans on that level. Not that I don't like them being free, too, but I love dragonriders
