I don't :) In fact I'm quite vocal about the fact that I've taken NINE years to get as good as I am at piano, and it was by no means easy. It takes work. And it really annoys me when people dismiss piano as one of those instruments anyone can be good at.

I've noticed, too...and I just had a really good idea for an RP/story today, and it's not really about power-bearing/chosen ones, so maybe I'll post it once I've fleshed it out a bit.

Piano is a great foundational instrument - I started on it ... but a lot of people switch out before they have time to get good at it. I played for six years and have now "lost" most of it :( Kudos to you, Meldawen! But I liked piano because it was a great visual aid for the scales and stuff. I play violin now :D

I live in Europe, SG, not the USA. It's way cooler here *gloats again*.

I took Piano lessons for a year (before I started the Cello) and then dropped it. I didn't like it very much at all. I've thought about taking it up again recently, but not too seriously--I want to learn the Guitar first.

Of course, now I'm setting a rule for myself--I'm not going to take any more music lessons (except Cello) in a foreign language, because it really complicates the learning process. I still have a ton of trouble reading notes, after five years.

 Right now, I can whole-heartedly agree with you, Aerandir. America is just embarrassing herself right now. Along with all her citizens. I'd kill to get a vacation in Europe... Anywho...

I salute you, Meldawen! I played piano for 4 years, until I decided that I wanted to take flute, apposed to piano and flute. Piano is really fun... But I really don't have that much skill to make my right and left hand do totally different things at one time. I can play many songs from memory, but if I miss one note, I'm a goner. That and the fact that I am hopelessly lost to reading bass clef...

Ugh. I am taking a spanish class right now. And I reeeeaaaly don't want to take it. I would much rather learn ASL, or even better, no foreign language at all! And I can pretty much read a line of treble notes in seconds (well, mentally, not verbally) but again, am hopeless at bass.

I've been playing piano for four years. I'm not the best pianist out there, but I'd have to say I've improved much since when I first started.

I'd love to join your rpg when you post it, Melda. I usually do better in other people's rpgs than my own :P

Thanks guys :) Yeah, I like to think I've gotten pretty good at it after nine years!

Well, it could be a while....I'm trying to figure out how to alter it so that it's not so centered around one character, because I don't like RPs that work like that. If everyone's gonna enjoy it, everyone's character has to be able to have the potential to be important. But I'll get it figured out :)

^I know how to play the guitar. I lay it on the ground and pluck it like a harp... music to my ears...

I have to agree with you there, Melda. Those rpgs that aren't centered around one character (generally belonging to the initiater of the rpg) are more enjoyable.

What level of piano are you on, Meldawen?

I like RPs that aren't centered around one person too. I think it tends to make the other characters not feel as important.

Kiani's not that bad actually. I'm enjoying being a side character. I admit that if the plot's engaging enough, there's a spot for everyone.

Yeah.... Thats true. I am boooored... And I hate spanish. Silly word finds... They are supposed to be 'fun' but right now, this silly rosetta stone program is time-consuming torture...

I'm currently working on my Royal Conservatory grade 8, to do the exam in June. I'm already scared :P

See, but Kiani has five main characters. That usually works out to be enough, because if the RP lasts any length of time it tends to dwindle to five or six people at most. I think that one works really well.

I like playing a side-character. More than I enjoy playing a main character. Aivon's a side-character, Tal is kind of a side-character too, and I've enjoyed playing them more than most of my other characters (except the ones in my Star Wars RPG--those are my favorites).

I'm planning on joining your RPG, Meldawen, if/when you get it up, just fyi. So far all of yours have been interesting.

I've only actually started about...oh...three, so I don't quite know if you can make that generalization yet, but thanks! As soon as I have some free time (*gasp**wheeze* life is getting craaazy) I'll see what I can do to figure it out. And you just better join, LDM, I don't know what I'll do without you adding plot twists cause I don't have very much of it planned :) And yeah, I do better in RPs made by other people (even if I do *ahem* tend to take over a bit once in a while).

I like the Kiani RP. I think it's fun, even though i'm not a Kiani power person, i am fitting in well enough.
