Aww.. I didnae think it was very funny. Except for maybe the fact that he did the complete opposite of surviving...

It seems there have been a lot of fan made videos after DH came out. *sigh* It sort of gets me that people only like Snape now because of what happened in DH. I guess everyone can't be like us though, can they?

Hmm.. since the quotes idea didn't attract a lot of posts then let's try with YouTube links.

Here is my favorite (mostly due to the fact that the music is the loverly Unforgiven by Metallica - I'm not much for the cheesy romantic ones):

[wails]

[sniffle]

Do you know how much sleep I got last night?! 5 hours! 5 blinkin' hours! I didn't get to bed until 7 because of that blasted book... and then I hardly slept....

*cries*

Poor Severus.

I don't mind the fact he loved Lily all his life. It was kinda sweet I suppose... but maybe a little bit too much, I don't know. I'm not certain yet.

I think the fact they knew each other before Hogwarts seems a little bit... much? Especially as it has never, ever been mentioned to Harry by those who knew Lily, that she knew Snape well.

I don't know. That part of the story leaves a strange taste in the mouth.

I'm glad though that Harry recognised how brave Snape had been. That was one of my wishes and he did do that and more.

Another chapter though, before the "19 years later" would have been welcome though. I wanted to hear about the funerals and hear what happened to other people.

*sigh*

Look... at... me.

He really wanted Harry to understand him... or he wanted Lily to understand. Heart-rending.

True, it might have been a little far-fetched that no one told Harry about Snape.. but then again no one told Harry about the connection to Godric's Hollow he shared with Dumbledore either. And I don't think people knew about Snape's deep love for Lily anyway.

And welcome back to the Snape club, by the way. :-)

On Wiki it said that his dying request was to look into the eyes that were so much like Lily's.. *sniff*

Gah, I'm not sure about the whole Lily thing really. Which is weird, because I am a hopeless romantic... it just seems like the easy way out to explain why Snape was loyal to Dumbledore and why he was like he was.... "oh, yeah it's another thing to do with luuuurve".... I mean, it's not like it wasn't exptected even though when OOTP came out, and JK was asked in an interview would it be told that Snape was ever in love with Lily and she said "noooooo".

Hmm... I think I'd rather he was just shocked at what his information telling to Voldemort had done (as he didn't really want anything to happen to the Potters) and that's why he was full of regret, and yes maybe he did like Lily... but always? I'm not sure if the Severus Snape of the first 6 books would do that? And yet in the 7th she threw a different character at us... without any warning.

I'm sure this will grow on me, but at the moment I'm just confused.

Thank you. Glad to be back. :-)

True.. but sometimes it's as simple - and as complicated - as love! ;-) Love is what makes the world go around, love has started wars and perhaps even settled some of them again. Love is a powerful and uncontrollable force.

Would Snape really be so shocked at Voldemort's acts? He had seen them before and he knew what Voldemort was and what he could do... but I agree it might be part of the reason... I don't think Snape has more of a heart than other of the Death Eaters (because I believe the Death Eaters do have hearts) but he has the courage to stand up (which the others lack, in my opinion).

But wouldn't it be more appropriate to have this conversation on the DH thread so others could contribute? :-)

Yes, that is true but I'm sure she could have come up with something else personally. :teehee:

Yes, I think he would. In fact, I think nearly all of them would have been shocked at some point at what Voldemort did or wanted them to do. Whether it be because he wanted a really important person killed, whose death would cause great outcry in the wizarding world or something else that maybe they never expected. All the Death Eaters show fear at some point, and I'm sure certain things he did, probably made them feel uneasy or unsettled them.

Hmm... I'm not sure... I think he has more of a heart but I'm probably completely and utterly biased. :P I agree, I also think some of the Death Eaters have hearts, most notably the Malfoy's who actually shocked me in DH, because they did genuinly care more for their son than whatever Voldemort wanted them to do and they risked a lot, to keep in safe.

Most probably. :-)

I have a lot to say about hearts and Death Eaters and a greedy lust for power but fear of the consequences and I would love to post it in the DH thread but I'm scared to post after your looong post since I can't put a decent reply together for the whole book.

I still believe Snape has a heart and a conscience. I don't think he is better than any of the others, because like the Malfoys he also had his private reasons to act like he does. But it would have been more strange if he did it solely of a good and pure heart, so unbelievable!

By the way, I have a confession to make. I wasn't a Snape fan from the beginning. The character started growing on me when the movies came out (thanks to the wonderfully talented Alan Rickman) but I didn't pay special attention to Snape until the later books where Rowling elaborated on his character and added a deeper dimension. But then he became a very interesting character. I love how he is so multi-facetted, there is always more of a story to the 'complicated' people than the ordinary and good.
*cough* Anyway, just to let you all know... never was a die hard Snape fan - I didn't like him when he was just plain annoying, apparently without any reason. I understand if you must shun me and poison my drink now...

Concerning the 'Look... at... me.' quote. I think it's up for free interpretation. I understood it as Snape wanted to make Harry understand the greater picture about his relationship to the Death Eaters and to The Order of the Phoenix and where his true loyalties lied - including his love for Lily. Look at him to understand.
(Perhaps even as an act of remorse for how he had treated Harry during his years at Hogwarts - but then again no.. that's not something that would be important to Snape. I think he believed he acted fair towards Harry.)

Secondly, it could be as simple as Snape just wanted to look into Lily's eyes one last time...

Anyway, in addition to the video link I posted earlier (with Unforgiven by Metallica!) I've got a couple more:

Underneath the Veil - Really good quality and a good song, I like the feeling and the atmosphere of the video. I love the class room scene where he enters in the most arrogant way, closes the curtains with his wand without even looking at his students and acts as if teaching the class is way below his dignity!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTtXxfSXu5M&NR=1

One of Us - Not the best choice of song, but whatever. I like how it's put together, there are some great pictures of the duelling scene. And the Dark Mark is shown!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DorIK_Nf ... ed&search=

Notorious - Didn't like the song int he beginning, but the editting is brilliant and the quality is great!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTLLW_1O ... ed&search=

There is another one with I Will Survive but I just can't see any relation to Gloria Gaynor... And it's mostly the same sequences as in the other videos.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pizf6hG5 ... ed&search=

This one is with I'm Too Sexy and the quality is horrible...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0loOcaW7 ... ed&search=

*ahem* That's all... I mean from a simple search on YouTube.. I'm sure there are more. :P

And as a bonus, Be Prepared, the song from Lion King with the Jeremy Irons singing (we like!), it's just put together so brilliantly!!!

*flyingtacklehug* You've finished DH, Ducky!? Squee!!

*happy dance*

*ahem*

I really, really love the whole LilyxSnape romance. I mean, it's got to be the most die hard romantic story I've ever read about. And it's so, so sad. Poor Severus spends practically his entire life trying to get the woman he loved, and then when she dies, he spends the rest of his life trying to protect her son who is the spitting image of the man who stole his girl. Oow. *huggles Snape-y*

Sorry, I've been waiting for this moment a long time... ;)

*watches YouTube videos in ernest*

Wow. Those are some really good quality ones. I like the "Underneath the Veil" video a lot. The timing between the clips and the music is fantastic, and some how the "director" managed to use some of the best Snape clips I've ever seen.

Ooops, posted the same video twice, but I've editted the post now so Be Prepared is the Be Prepared video! :-)

I most definitely don't agree with any of what was said there. Of course, everyone is entitled to their opinion, but I just can't agree with any of the content of that review.

Everyone should have known that JKR was going to really shake things up in the final book. Everything is not as it seems. The world is turned topsy-turvy. It makes sense, it's a war. Everyone acts differently when there is emotional upheaval and othersuch things like it in war.

I thought everyone stayed in character as best they could, and whilst I do agree that Severus did a complete one-eighty, we should have seen it coming. All those people who speculated that he was good since HBP should have at least. The thing people can't take in is the fact that we have seen throughout books 1-6 this greasy git from the dungeons that Harry loathes. We are seeing him through Harry's eyes, which are very warped by the past. In book 7, we see Snape standing alone. At times he continues to be hidden behind the mask that had served him so well, but at others, we finally see him for what he truly is: a very unfortunate and pitiable person.

It's all a matter of perspective and some people still refuse to see the real Severus Snape because the warped and prejudiced version of himself still stands in the way.

@ Larel- I didnt read the article thingy-mabober b/c i dont have time but i have talked with ppl who think Snape is still his same old "Evil" self but i tell them all the time that they dont realize that he was never truly evil. he had his bad times yes. but now hes shown his true colors and was able to die a "Murderer" because thats what was asked of him by Dumbledore. He didnt know if Harry or anybody else would figure out that he did it b/c Dumbledore asked him to. Ya know?

[Also that video i posted earlier; i thought it was "Funny" b/c of the song and how it went with the clips. I never saw that song going together with Snape so well... ^^]
