Yay! A club! For His Dark Materials! If you are totally obsessed, or a little bit obsessed, or maybe you want to find out more about this book series and soon to be movie, come on in, grab a chair and join! We can discuss everything, characters, plot, pros, cons and the like.

We have one rule, and one rule only. Since these books have so much to do with religion and "The Authority", we have to be very careful, it is one of the forum rules, so please abide by it. If you wish to get into a full fledged debate, please resort to the wonderful thing called PM.

[jumps in] -Very- careful. I'm in the middle of reading Book 1, but I'll be keeping my eye out for the club! Let's just hope that you guys show you can discuss maturely, and respectfully, and just share a common bond of this great series. :)

I'll join! I love these books, and I can't wait to see the movie, though I know I'll have to debate with my dad to get the chance to see them (for said reasons that we are being very careful about, if you get my drift.)

And it's not because of Daniel Craig, I swear! It's just how noble he is.

^_^ I'll believe you Kit... of course had Daniel Craig not been playing Asriel he would without doubt be my favourite character anyway.

I'm sure you will. I read them all in 10 days, but I speed read through some bits as it was all descriptive... :P .. and I just wanted to get them finished really. Now I want to read something happy... :teehee: ...

I want a daemon. :D

Well I have actually thought about that, as I have thought about a Patronus. There are similarities between them I think. (And we know what came first :teehee:)

I reckon mine would be a cat of some sort, most possible a panther. As I think Patronus' sort of reflect the person and we know daemons do.

Mine would be a cat because I can be as gentle and playful as a little kitty but then I can completely change and scratch and snarl. (Not literally, but you get what I mean). Also cats can be both aloof and loyal and that's me as well.

My friends tell me I'd have a Koala.

A Koala that eats rabbits----and I'm really not sure if they were serious about that last part, but a Koala.

I read them a loong time ago, when I was 11 or 12 I think, but I loved them :D
favourite character, I'd say Will *.*
and if I had a daemon he would be some sort of dog...I'd actually like a wolf :P

Oh could I join too? I love these books.

I'm still not really sure what my daemon would be. I think it's just about impossibleto work out what the most important parts of your personality are and what animal that would be like. A big cat kind of daemon would be cool though :P

I did do the test on the movie site: http://www.goldencompassmovie.com/ and the first time I got a mouse and the second time I got an ape. I wasn't that impressed with either I have to say.
