ADVICE FOR GRAPHIC MAKERS FROM GRAPHIC MAKERS:
-If your graphic program is being a pain, dunk it in the toilet. (Thank you JF)
-Don't overdue the effects.
-You are your biggest critic.
-Don't be afraid to experiment.
-The text you use... matters.
-Be Patient
-Contrast colors
-Remember how easily you made an awesome graphic and do not focus on the bad graphics.

Ooh, me, me!!

If you're graphic programe is being a pain, dunk it down the toilet until it gives in and behaves. :P

And that my friends, is the most sensible comment you will hear from me at 5 in the morning. :zzsoft:

I do agree however. Photoshop has this new idea of randomly having all of the layers, toolboxes, and options disappear so I will see nothing but the pictures and menu bar. Now, I know how to get everything back, but it is still VERY aggrevating.

Oh! I've been waiting for this club!

And my advice is... whatever you do, don't overdo it on the effects. I have a tendancy to do that and my graphics suffer for it.

Very true.. simplicity is the new style.. relatively.

My advice is to glance at it afterwards and make sure it is pleasing to you. More than likely, you are the hardest critic you have.

I know when I was making oodles of colorizations.. there would be this little 5 pixel by 5 pixel box that I would notice, but, if I didn't point it out, no one else would have.

I can't do colorizations for some reason. They turn out looking like paperdolls... urg... it's quite annoying really...

I'd like to join! I'm still quite the beginner, but I do like practicing.

Hm... advice. Don't be afraid to experiment and try new things on graphics. Sometimes I'll have one idea stuck in my head for a graphic, but I'll try something else, and it looks better.

Experimenting... another great piece of advice.

I should add all of this to the first post!

Elenya... it doesn't matter that you are just beginning...we all were once, and you are around friends.. who will only critize you with love. :P

More advice: the text you use matters! It really can break or make the graphic.

Thanks, smeag- it's good to know I'll be lovingly critized. :P

I definitely agree with the text advice. I like downloading fonts from online- different options can really help different graphics.

Which reminds me.. I want the text in your banner, but I have no earthly idea what it is called.

You have any idea?

Post subject:

I don't know... I can't remember seeing it before. You could ask ethelfleda- she made the banner for me.

I'll join!

Advice... be patient... it helps. Saves time in the long run, too.

PSP is still a pain for me, any new fonts, and it shuts down on me, and won't let me use them. Now when I want any text at all, I use Animation Shop which came with PSP, type my text in there and copy and paste it back into PSP. That way I know it won't shut down on me. It still does sometimes though when I use brushes.

Advice: don't add up all the hours you spent trying to make a bad graphic.... :P ... just remember how awesomely quick you were when you made something staggering. It really helps. :teehee:

JF: It sounds like we might want to make a revolt against your PSP. Would you like to use swords or torches and pitchforks?

@ Aerlinniel-I read your second line before the first line, and I was like: what in the world is she taking about.
But, the first line cleared everything up.

@Night-Being patient helps with everything. Typically, if you aren't, you give up.

@Revenge-You do that, I shall force you. *stares*
