I didn't see a fanclub for this, so I opened one. *if there's an official fanclub, feel free to point me to it and lock this one*

this fanclub is for both the books and movies. I will see if I can get a banner made, but pics are so hard to come by it may be a bit difficult.

I love Anne of Green Gables :) I've never seen the movie(s), just read the books.

I think the books are just as good as the films, or maybe that should be vice versa. You should at least see the first two films, which are closer to the books and are tons better than the Continuing Story. I wouldn't even waste my time on The Continuing Story. It's so...un-anne.

I'm loving the books; a few years ago I started the first book and didn't get past chapter 3. I dont' know why I didn't stick it out because I would have loved them then.

okay, so....first topic: favorite Anne moment either in the books or the films? I'm not sure if I have a fav. for the books, but the films, I definitely have some favorites:

the first film: when anne smashes her slate over gil's head *who doesn't love that?? lol*; when Anne turns her nose up at Gil when he tries to apologize and when he tries to congratulate her; when she dies her hair green, and of course the end with Anne and gil.

second film: the whole bantering between Anne and gil at the beginning and when she hits him with the envelope *lol*; when she and Diana fall into the mud, and any Anne and gil moment in the film, especially the end *it's a lot like the third book's ending*

Yayy I'd LOVE to join this club! I've been a major AoGG fan ever since I was a kid. The first two films (the ones from the '80s) are my preferred way of getting my Anne fix but I love the books too.

Favorite moments? Gods, ALL of them! :D

Every book I read, the more I'm amazed by how closely the films followed teh books, even if they switched around names and events and stuff....and how many of the lines stayed in the films from the books....

I really only watch the movies for the Anne and gil moments. Who doesn't love them??? :D *heart flutters over gil* :p

Ooooo... can I join please? :D

I love the books! I didn't know there were films though.... But I'm in the UK so they're not big here. I got into them because my aunt who lives in Canada gave me a really nice illustrated edition of the first book when I visited her for my 10th birthday.. :D

I haven't read them for years though but I've been planning to re-read them this summer. I have a whole month between the end of my exams and when I go to Madagascar which I need to fill with something so reading it is! :D

You should see the films, but I would only see the first two, the third isn't really worth the time, and it's so depressing. :) But of course you can join :D

I'm at the point in Anne's House of Dreams where they've met some of their neighbors *C aptain Jim, etc...* so I haven't gotten far, but I'm working on it. ;)

Oooh favorite parts... I love all of the books, and the first two movies! The third movie I don't like because they just basically made up their own story line and didn't even follow the books.

Anne's children are all so fun to read about... lucky little things, they got Anne for a mother!

Yes, the 3rd movie was completely uncalled for. Have you heard that they're making a 4th one, with no Gil????? It doesn't even have Megan in it. :disgust: I'm so not watching it.

I can't seem to sit down and just read Anne's House of Dreams...I'm to chapter 8 but for some reason I just can't pay attention long enough, lol.

Whaaaaaaatttt?!? When's that one supposed to come out? Grrr... if they followed the story line, it'd be different... but as is, they shouldn't even be tampering with it like that. /end growling rant

Anne's House of Dreams is a good book, it's sad in places, though. I like Leslie. :)

The new Anne film is already finished and should be released any day now. It's supposed to be before Anne came to Matthew and Marilla I think. When she was way younger. Made by the same production company as the first three films.

But still. It's not the same and will never be the same.
