Both of you are in! Eowuclya, that's quite a long time! Are all of your dances in Preliminary Championship? I'm 14. I haven't even been dancing for a year, but my teacher said that I should start competing in the Advanced Beginner. I'm already in Novice in my Jig! I'm Adv. Beg. in my Reel, Treble Jig, and Hornpipe, and Novice in my Light Jig and Slip Jig. What school do you go to? I go to the Heinzman school in the southeastern Michigan area. My favourite Irish dance show is Lord of the Dance!!!!!! In my opinion the best Irish Dancers on earth are, Michael Flatley, Gillian Norris, Bernadette Flynn, and Kerrie Connolly. Yeah! It does feel really good to talk to other people who dance! |

My favorite is Lord of the Dance. When you are in Open(to some it is Prizewinner) you can have separate dances, like Reel is in Novice while your Hornpipe is in Open. But when you get into Preliminary you must have placed (1,2, or 3) in all of your open dances. Then you pick a soft shoe dance(reel or slip jig) and a hard shoe dance(treble jig or hornpipe). You dance both dances, and 3 judges(instead of 1) give you a combined score and only 1 place out of how many dancers were in your competition(usually around 20). You go to Heinzman? That's cool. I go to O'Hare. Michael O'Hare studio, in Birmingham, Michigan. Wow, your ahead for only having danced a year, but feis season just ended. Is your teacher planning on having you go to Oireachtas? This year will be my 5th year at Oireachtas. |

Anyway, the Feis season hasn't ended here. I still have two more feisanna to go to. Great Lakes(Lansing) and Michigan(Muskegon). My dance school hosts the Great Lakes Feis. |

Of course you can join! You don't have to dance. Yeah, Irish dance has spread. I'm glad it has, too! If anyone likes shows like Riverdance, I would recommend Lord of the Dance, Rhythm of the Dance, and Feet of Flames. Gaelforce is okay, but in my opinion, it's not the best(my opinion). Riverdance would come after those three(to me). That's the great thing about Irish Dance shows. There are so much to choose from! |
