An outside wedding in a forest with tall green trees. There is a small white platform with elegant white or silver poles sticking up with silk veiling around draping from the roof. A clear stream surrounds the backside of the the platform. And when the two are married and kiss, the silk that covers the poles of the flatform is let go and thousands of small white flowers fall onto the new couple and then they are presented to the small crowds watching....

Although, I dont think Tolkien talked about it much in the books either. They didn't show any of their wedding in the movie, I thought? I don't know that they would have had a cake, at least not the kind of cake we think of. It just seems a little...odd.

I think that the wedding would be a grand ceremony as Arwen was becoming the Queen of Gondor, although i believe that it would follow traditional weddings. I can imagine lots of tears, but tears of happiness, the vows, perhaps some sort of speech but i doubt that lol um...I imagine the companions of the quest to be significant and given special roles within the wedding lol Legolas as Best man hee hee...Gimli as Page boy!
Yes lots of dancing, ale, food and then general celebration.

LOL Gimli as a page-boy! That would be hilarious!
Yeah I think that it would be a grand ceremony too, but not too grand as it would have had to be arranged fairly quickly. (The day after Arwen comes to Minas Tirith her and Aragorn are wed) Plus, I don't see Aragorn wanting it to be too big and grand!

I'm sure that it was still big and grand. After all--it had been planned for a while, since Aragorn had been expecting it for several months.
But I don't really imagine that they had lots of ale. That just doesn't seem very kingly. I'd say that they had lots of wine instead.

I agree, Wine would be more kingly. But I think he would have ale... ordered in from the Prancing Pony!

Yeh, ale was probably served. Cause if you think about it, they serve beer at weddings, along with the wine, so both would have been there.
What do you think the after-ceremony would have been like?

Probably formal with a lot of dancing and drinking. I'm sure the men or the elves would be showing the elves how to have a real good time!
