Hmmm. I think if he pulls it off right, it will be an event!.

I wasn't really that keen on the book but hopefully it will make a good film. I do think it's good that PJ's still making other sorts of films now not just blockbuster type ones. I wish he could have made The Hobbit first though.

Yes, I wish for this too, I'm really looking foreward to the Hobbit movie.
But I'm exited for this movie, too. I haven't read the book, but I've heard about it, and now the topic interests me more and more!

I thought the book was fairly good, so it will be interesting to see how it is made into a film--definately not an easy task.

Hmm, indeed. Complicated, that one.

Oh, I thought that the book was beautiful...although I'm not sure if a film can recreate it subtly enough. After all, half of the point of the book was the tact with which it was done, and the subtlty.

Peter Jackson may be a good director, but I don't think this can be made into a dramatic film without ruining the book...

This book is soooooooooo sad. They can't make it into a film. Noone will be able to see the screen, they'll be crying so hard, the rape scene will be far to intence. I can't see it myself.

I love the book and I think the movie is going to be great since PJ is behind it :-D

The only thing is...I don't know if Peter Jackson can pull off that kind of subtlty...I don't know if anybody can.
They can't dull it down, or take any of it out...and by not doing that, I'm not sure what the age-rating should be, firstly...

I'm really dreading if they do make this into a film...it'll have to be absolutely and utterly perfect to pull it off, and that's going to be difficult to do.

I haven't read the book but it does sound quite interesting. Seeing as PJ pulled off LotR, I'm sure he can do The Lovely Bones!

^ Mhm, but LotR had enough drama, and is an entirely different genre of book.
Don't get me wrong, he's a fantastic director...but anybody taking this project under their wing has to be prepared to cover the sensitivities of it.
Lovely Bones is about as far from LotR as it's possible to get, and I hope that he can pull it off.

^_^
