Check the Gate is a well-known term within the film industry. PJ used it and he sure wasn't the first (and neither was Andrew of course).
The Check the Gate song is really a rap song that exists called "Shake your @$$" with the exact same words, rhyme and 'melody', Skandar just changed Shake and the Behind-Word to Check and Gate.

SO now, everytime I hear either "Check The Gate" or "Shake Your A**" I'm reminded of the movie "About A Boy" and I can just see Skandar walking down a school hallway singing that to himself...ha ha ha!
