It was years ago I saw it but... It seemed good but gory and I was so tired that night that I fell asleep in it! *thinks* (this is off topic but not off topic; if you know what I mean ) I think they made a movie on the book of Esther with Gimli from LOTR in it! Need to see it. I think it might possibly be called "A night with the king" though I heard its a little distorted from the story of the actual story from the book of Esther.
"I have not been abandoned, no I have not been
Deserted and I have not been forgotten
I need you
I need you here
I need you now
I need security somehow
I need you
Like you would not believe
You're the only thing I want
Cause you're everything I need" - I need you- Relient K

'tis called "one night with the king" and the actor who played Gimli isnt it--its Denethor actually. though, he's barely in it. I saw it about a month ago, well, I didnt actually watch the whole movie. I left at about the middle of it to go on the computer.

We own that movie. I haven't seen it, though. It looked boring, to me.
TN, it wasn't the blood that made me feel sick, it was more the thought of how the whip felt. I mean, it would have penetrated deeply. It had glass, metal, etc., embedded in it, and it would have ripped chunks of flesh off. That's why I was feeling sick. I'm basically immune to being sick at the sight of blood--I've seen quite a bit of my own.

Thats when the tears came and went on for the rest of the movie.
I just realized how sensitive I am while watching movies.

I've always wanted to see The Passion, although I never have. Since it's rated R, and also I don't think I would be able to stand how sad it is, not to mention the blood. Reading that part in the Bible is hard enough!

I don't actually recall crying in the movie. I know my eyes were damp, but I don't think there were any tears.

Well for me there was! even though it was just a movie, it was still torture to see them tormenting Jesus. I think..maybe, our whole family had "tears" um..dunno about my Dad. I've never seen him cry, actually. I suppose it really depends of how great your Faith is to how sad the movie seemed.

The worst bit of that movie for me is that i'm resonably fluent in Latin. The captions can't translate the words fully, some you just have to understand thier full meaning. The bit where he's being whipped, well you know how they don't show the subtitles of how many times he's been flogged...good thing they don't. My mum counted up to ten with me, then ran out of vocab...i got to 123 before i turned the volume off. It was too awful.

My dad bought the DVD and we watched it together, but i left the room after about 30 minutes. I wasn't to do anything with the film, I liked the bit that I've seen, but I realized that it would influence my own imagination too strongly. I didn't want to think about movie scenes everytime that i think about Christ's Passion.
So i can't really say much about the film, but i liked the fact that Mel Gibson left the original languages and only used subtitles to translate them.

Ohh well, the season is coming up. They're showing it on TV on Maundy Thursday aka. tomorrow... Perhaps I should give it a try and watch it on a smaller screen...

I think our whole family will watch it again. Not sure if I want to though.
Man...whenever I watch it..I get kinda freaked out when Satan comes on screen. then I have horrible frights of him for like a week.
a silly fear..but one I try to overcome.
