I'm experiencing a strong temptation to say something in all caps. Must... resist...
Whyyy did they have to bring HIM in?!
You know, in spite of this... uh... news... I currently have the most hilarious mental image floating around in my head... It has something to do with Zac Efron wearing a gigantic hat with an ostrich feather on it, waving a sword, jumping around, and singing at the top of his lungs.

*shudders* YUCK. I am glad I'm not alone... I sure hope this is a big silly and untrue rumor, because otherwise I am seriously going to flip. Oh yeah, I already have...
(Every time I see this guys standee at a mall I think it would be fun to buy and use as a shooting target.)

So we're okay... for now, anyway. I think it's also notable that the second article said Keira Knightley would be returning, which she had said she definitely wouldn't, if I'm not mistaken. Denouncing that source!
If they did go with him, it would really send a message to me that they aren't even going to try to make this film into anything. They really would just be cashing in by putting their current top money-making star into their current top money-making project. I'm desperately hoping it doesn't turn into that. I don't put them above it, though... it's still quite likely they'd do it, which is the scary part.
That said, I don't think I'd see it. _________________

So... just so I have it straight. IF he does take the part what part egsactily would he be playing??
A new character?
I kind of got the impression that he would take Orlando Bloom's part as Will... but there is entirely TOO much age difference I don't see how on earth they could pull that off...

Relax, guys, I'm pretty sure we're okay.
*Mutters something about the best way to push a PotC fan's buttons is to say the next movie will feature someone from HSM*
Personally, I think that if it weren't for the bad association of him being in High School Musical, I almost wouldn't mind. I'm very easygoing. I'm mostly curious to see what they do with this movie. I'm not expecting it to be that good, so I don't care too much what they do.

I about cried when I read about Zac Efron. I can only hope it is a rumour intending to give sick people a laught by making POTC fans sad and despressed and suicidal. My mentioning Keria as returning in the same article, when she said even before AWE she would never make another POTC film, I am really hopeful that it is false.
I absolutely hate the way everywhere I go in BRITAIN I am constantly seeing cheap and nasty stuff from High School Musical with such sappy, sickly sweet, goo-goo people plastered all over the place.

Well... I hope your right that we have nothing to worry about.
And yeah... I agree that if it weren't for him having played in HSM I don't think the reaction woudl be this bad....
And I dont' expect it tobe a good movie. Every following movie has got a little worse than the one before it.... so it's almost unavoidable unless they really pull something out of their hat.
But still.... if they gotta ruin it PLEASE dont' ruin it that way!
